BSU negotiating behind the MWC's back.

oh .... I think the MWC knew about it.

I won't really miss Boise and I don't care what they do.

But I will miss Air Force.

Am actually glad to see Boise go. They have been nothing but a pain in the ass and they detract from the season. I only hope we send them out with a loss or two along the way.

Air Force? A big fail on the solidarity thing. I expected more.

Nothing has been said on Air Force, least from what I've seen.

But I am this close to giving up on college football in general, even our conference. You have SDSU people dreaming about a new Western division (even before the latest rounds hit), BSU fans constantly looking down on everyone, and the solidarity that once defined the MWC now completely gone.

Assuming one of Louisville or West Virginia bolts from the Big East, Boise State, Air Force, AND BYU will join that conference. Nothing new here.....we've been expecting this for weeks. Nobody is negotiating behind anyone's back. Its all wide out in the open. That might be the saddest part about this entire ordeal. Nobody gives a shit whether their peers know about what other opportunities they're going after.

How stupid is Boise here. This is short sighted at best. The Big East, once WVA leaves, won't even exist as a football conference... and that's an upgrade??

They're not the only one going of course. Still a 12-team conference, majority of the teams are better than what the MWC offers minus BSU, AFA, and TCU. What makes the MWC legit as of this moment won't be around any more.

So how does being in a football conference, the Big East, a benefit for Boise? How many Boise fans are going to travel across the country to watch Boise play UConn? or South Florida? My guess, is very few. How is this possibly a benefit for Boise fans? Plus, what TV deal does the Big East have? ESPN on Wednesday night? How many Boise basketball games will BSU fans get to see on TV playing in the Big West or Big Sky? Or the Missouri Valley? My guess, none. At least w/ MW TV, they'd be aired in Idaho, and on DirecTV. This is a VERY short term gain that will have long-term negative impact, IMO. Chase the money, Boise. Chase away, you'll be back in a Western conference before you know it.. if anyone will have you back.. elephants never forget and I doubt Craig Thompson's hair does either.

Translation, guys,......

WYOMING IS TOTALLY SCREWED!!!!! And we can thank Lee Moon and Dana Dimel (I'm sure there are others) for this!

BSU will be on the East Coast max twice every other year. They've been doing that in the WAC/MWC for quite awhile now. 25K went to the game in DC against Va Tech. Travel won't be as big an issue as you think. Load up on OOC games at home and on the West coast and it even outs.

As for the T.V. deal.......just about anything beats the Mtn. Anything. Nobody see's BSU play right now. Something is better than nothing.

Basketball isn't a priority in Boise. Never has been, and is a long ways from being one.

If there ever was a need to return to a western conference, chances are it will be one in dire need of a respectable football program. Wyoming instantly becomes a contender, if not the contender, in the BSU/AFA/TCU-less MWC. That should tell you just about everything you need.......Beggars don't have the privilege of turning down goods. AQ status is the holy grail of college football. Everyone is after it. If you're not in the conversation for it, you've already lost the battle.

How are we screwed? We still have a conference.. 18 teams or something.

'Cause without AQ status for this alliance, it won't last for long...see WAC-16 mess.

Truth....Sad stuff. One positive I see.....If BSU/AFA leave, Wyoming's days of being pathetic/mediocre in football are over. They will win in this new conference.

Anbd if the Big East ever goes to 14 football teams and needs another team out west.......

That WILL be the ONLY way we'll get BCS status for Wyoming.

Crazier things have happened....

And if it did, all of a sudden now the new Big East would be AWESOME in the eyes of Poke fans. Perception can change pretty quickly......

I think you are way off in your perception of Wyoming Cowboy fans. Most of us have different values.

Easy to say because it hasn't happened! If the Big East offered Wyoming a chance to be in its conference right now, it would be considered an opportunity too good to pass up. Wyoming is not any more righteous than any other school.

Hate to say it, guys, but he's right. Wyoming would be no better than what AFA, Boise, TCU, Utah, and yes....even the a-holes from Provostan should a Big East invitation comes our way.

This is a great example of evolution....survival of the fittest!

Not saying it wouldn't happen - that would be up to Buchanan. However, you would find far more Wyoming fans against this move than any other school in the MWC.

You're probably right.....Most fans from schools involved with this realignment probably feel the same way. Doesn't mean their school wouldn't jump at any opportunity to gain AQ status right now or more $$$$.
