Nothing has been said on Air Force, least from what I've seen.AfiPoke said:Am actually glad to see Boise go. They have been nothing but a pain in the ass and they detract from the season. I only hope we send them out with a loss or two along the way.
Air Force? A big fail on the solidarity thing. I expected more.
They're not the only one going of course. Still a 12-team conference, majority of the teams are better than what the MWC offers minus BSU, AFA, and TCU. What makes the MWC legit as of this moment won't be around any more.MrTitleist said:How stupid is Boise here. This is short sighted at best. The Big East, once WVA leaves, won't even exist as a football conference... and that's an upgrade??
BSU will be on the East Coast max twice every other year. They've been doing that in the WAC/MWC for quite awhile now. 25K went to the game in DC against Va Tech. Travel won't be as big an issue as you think. Load up on OOC games at home and on the West coast and it even outs.MrTitleist said:So how does being in a football conference, the Big East, a benefit for Boise? How many Boise fans are going to travel across the country to watch Boise play UConn? or South Florida? My guess, is very few. How is this possibly a benefit for Boise fans? Plus, what TV deal does the Big East have? ESPN on Wednesday night? How many Boise basketball games will BSU fans get to see on TV playing in the Big West or Big Sky? Or the Missouri Valley? My guess, none. At least w/ MW TV, they'd be aired in Idaho, and on DirecTV. This is a VERY short term gain that will have long-term negative impact, IMO. Chase the money, Boise. Chase away, you'll be back in a Western conference before you know it.. if anyone will have you back.. elephants never forget and I doubt Craig Thompson's hair does either.
MrTitleist said:How are we screwed? We still have a conference.. 18 teams or something.
Truth....Sad stuff. One positive I see.....If BSU/AFA leave, Wyoming's days of being pathetic/mediocre in football are over. They will win in this new conference.Wyokie said:'Cause without AQ status for this alliance, it won't last for long...see WAC-16 mess.

Crazier things have happened....Wyokie said:Anbd if the Big East ever goes to 14 football teams and needs another team out west.......![]()
That WILL be the ONLY way we'll get BCS status for Wyoming.

And if it did, all of a sudden now the new Big East would be AWESOME in the eyes of Poke fans. Perception can change pretty quickly......
Easy to say because it hasn't happened! If the Big East offered Wyoming a chance to be in its conference right now, it would be considered an opportunity too good to pass up. Wyoming is not any more righteous than any other school.WYCowboy said:I think you are way off in your perception of Wyoming Cowboy fans. Most of us have different values.

You're probably right.....Most fans from schools involved with this realignment probably feel the same way. Doesn't mean their school wouldn't jump at any opportunity to gain AQ status right now or more $$$$.WYCowboy said:Not saying it wouldn't happen - that would be up to Buchanan. However, you would find far more Wyoming fans against this move than any other school in the MWC.
