My one problem with the CFL is that it allows 6 of the eight teams (3 per division) to qualify for the playoffs AND the fact they play a 18 game over 20 week schedule. Damned stupid if you want my opinion.

What's the problem with 18 games over 20 weeks?

If you had a larger league like say 26-28 teams, you wouldn't have to play so many teams 3 or 4 times a year not counting playoffs! In the CFL, you have to play one divisional rival 4 times, and the other two 3 times each. Plus all the other teams in the other division twice each.

If I was running the CFL, I'd shorten the season to a more manageable 14 games over 14/15 weeks and require that only 4 teams total qualify for the playoffs (2 division champs and 2 wildcards).

I see...I find the entire production, unwatchable brother.

And you wonder why CFL in the U.S. in the mid-90s failed so badly! Only the Baltimore Stallions did anything. They are still around but as the Montreal Alouettes (French for Skylarks).

Indeed, their expansion into the states was less than successful.

CFL is entertaining as hell.. a little confusing at first. That said, Saskatchewan is a very bad team. Brett didn't have a chance tonight.

Smith went 15 for 22 for 132 yards and 2 INTs, ran 3 times for 21 yards with a long of 10 for Saskatchewan. Jones had a tackle and a special teams tackle for Edmonton. Edmonton Eskimos 30, Saskatchewan Roughriders 5. Ahh c'mon, it's pro football... sure, it's not the NFL, but doesn't it beat the crap out of watching baseball, soccer, and women's hoops? (Note: Nothing against those sports, but they're just not football!)

Right you are on both counts.

I enjoyed watching Brett play. That team he is on struggles to the least. I think the CFL can be decent fit for Brett.

As for the rules, I don't care for the punt on third down thing. And the mass false start/illegal procedures.

I didn't know he was working as a bar tender just last year.

Overall, I didn't mind watching the game. John Chick, Jake Doughty from USU...Smith from ndsu, and obviously Brett. Hope he can find success.

In the CFL, there is no fourth down. You have to make a first down (10 yards) in three tries.

To balance that, the defense has to line up a yard off the ball.

Plus, they allow 12 men on each side (11 here)...

AND their fields are 110 yards long (here 100 yards)

Wait.. seriously?? They really only have three downs?

Dead serious.

Y'all had better read this on Wikipedia. It has all the differences between Canadian and American football.

Yes. That's the way it is in a socialist leaning country. That's why you need to vote republican in 2016. Or it could happen to us.

Especially if Hillary is elected. If she wins, she'll make the Obama years look like a picnic!!!!!!

Yeah, that's high on the agenda, right after health care reform, marriage equality, gun control, and taxing the rich, those lefties want to get rid of a down in football... FACEPALM!

All the GOP candidates are bat-crap cray-cray this time around and there is no hope for any of them. If you don't want a Clinton in office, you'd best hold your nose and back Bernie Sanders.

I'd rather elect a former President brought back from the dead than pretty much any of the candidates. Or the town drunk. Would probably do better than most of the GOP candidates anyway.

How about Futurama Nixon's head in a jar for president? :)
