Brett Smith

I'd like a receiver built like Malcom Floyd currently is, and with all his skills. 6'5, 225, catches everything thrown his way.
You mean like Josh Doctson? The kid is green, but he's going to be a beast!
Yeah, that's kind of what I'm hoping - though he needs to add on like 40 lbs of muscle :P

Speaking of Green and going to be a beast, that Freshman QB named Brett Smith is going to be a beast when he gets a little thicker. He still looks like a High School Player. Every time he gets tackled, I cringe. When he "grows up" over the next couple years, he is going to be a beast. And if he can maintain his mobility or possibly improve it, he is going to be downright scary for defenses.

How good will this team be when they play at Nebraska in 2013? Can you imagine this Freshman and Sophomore classes when they are Juniors and Seniors? Doctson, Rufran, Smith, Sutton, Burns, Nzeocha, Puletasi, Herron, Huff and Miller... Could Wyoming possibly favorites on the road in Lincoln?!?

Would it be possible that Pittser catches on to the system well enough to catch and overtake Smith at QB? With another good recruit at back up quarterback, Smith might do major damage as a receiver! (With Smith as good as he is and if Pittser lives up to the initial hype, it would be a shame to have one of them on the bench at all times...) -- Actually, I saw Smith catch that touchdown pass from O'Neil and he has a ways to go to be a legitimate receiver.

Alright, seriously though. When Brett Smith is a senior and putting up crazy career numbers and we're complaining that he isn't getting any respect from the Heisman voters because he isn't playing in one of the elite conferences, somebody will need to post a video of him from this Freshman year so we can all laugh at how skinny he was. He's listed at 6'3 - 195. I don't think he looks 195 -- 185 maybe. His senior year, I'm thinking 6' - 4 and a legitimate 210... If he can still run at that size Wyoming will consistently put up 40 pts per game. The future looks very bright indeed.

At the start of the year, I thought he was good (for a freshman). The more I watch the more I stop qualifying my statement. Now I just think he is a really good quarterback. Earlier in the season he was accurate enough to be effective. Lately, his throws have been quite a bit better even though the game conditions have been less than favorable. He's a legitimate second team all-conference quarterback behind a very good Kellen Moore.

Anyway, back to reality... Go Pokes! Let's go get the big upset this week!
