If there is any doubt that the Pokes are better off now with Smith than with ACS this should help.
Freshman years:
ACS: 1953 yards, 10 TD, 5 INT...366 rush 3 TD....1 receiving TD
Smith: 2622 yards, 20 TD, 11 INT...710 rush 10 TD.... 1 receiving TD
Sophomore years:
ACS: 1702 yards, 9 TD, 8 INT...392 rush 3 TD
Smith: 2832 yards, 27 TD, 6 INT...248 rush 6 TD
Total through 2 years:
ACS: 3655 yards, 19 TD, 13 INT...758 rush 6 TD (1 receiving TD)
Smith: 5454 yards, 47 TD 17 INT, 958 rush, 16 TD (1 receiving TD)
Both QBs won MWC Freshman of the year.
ACS won a NM Bowl. Smith lost one.
But we all know that having ACS playing against Temple would not have stopped Temple running the ball all over us.
To me it is amazing Smith has such better numbers and is so much better. And ACS is a starting QB on an SEC team.
Christensen knows how to get QBs.
I don't know if ACS regressed because of a shitty O-Line, or just being a prima donna punk or a combo of that or what.
There is no doubt that Smith has the better WRs to work with, but Smith seems to make WRs better, I don't know if ACS has ever had that trait.
