@ScottNulph: RT @Jimrosehuskers: Bohl's deal at Wyo is easily 1.5-2M per. He negotiated private aircraft and asst staff salaries that dwarf predecessor

BOOM!!!! That is one reason right there!!! HR poke quit being a little sissy and get behind your team. You're as big if a Wyoming fan as anyone. You're acting like a child.
damn! if this is true, I like where this is headed. We need more money for assistance coaches and coordinators. Maybe we can get a better WHOLE staff instead of a huge contract HC and food stamp level assistants. I cannot say I like Burman, but I like what i'm seeing with this situation. Could turn out great or could really suck. Only time will tell. On a side note, wasnt the deal breaker with Tiller that he wanted private plane rights and the university said no? I wonder why now...

I'm guessing there is a big donor who is fed up with the losing.
He probably said "Fuck it, I don't need this extra money, here Burman you can have it, IF...you hook the coach up."

Sounds like that is exactly what happened. If you want to win in the FBS you're going to have play with big boy money. If not sit at the kids table and STFU.

I have never not been behind our team. I just dont think this is whats best for our team due to past performance by a similar coach.

I get it. But come on man. Totally different situation. And a guy that clearly will be able to gauge talent which was Glenn's downfall. Plus, Glenn just turned out to be too nice of a guy. Except when he flipped off Utah. Lol. Love that.
Will he be able to guage talent? His recruiting at nebraska was just going to the prison yard.
His Bison have committed over us, Rutgers, Pitt, and I'm sure other FBS teams. i wouldn't be as worried as you are.

bohl was DC at nebraska under osborne when many of his players had felony assault and felony domestic violence charges that got swept under the rug.

Okay, I knew it was something like that but wasn't totally sure exactly. Thanks for the background (not trying to sound douchey or anything there)

Switching to a power run scheme both smith and thompson will transfer.
That's a hell of an over reaction. Beaver, who is in contact with them, has already asked and confirmed that both are staying.

I'm not saying he'll be the next Eaton or Roach or anything, but he does have experience in FBS and has throttled the FCS the last couple of years. Glenn had never been in the FBS, but Bohl has. Give him a chance at least before you throw him under the bus.

A. Beaverpoke is full of shit. B. Beaverpoke has NOT talked to Brett or Thompson. Read his posts. He says he talked to some guys, no names. C. Smith wants to wait, see how the hire is, talk to his folks and make a decision, but he is leaning towards leaving. Thompson may stay because his red shirt got burned.

He's talked to Wick and a couple others, as he has class with them and personally tutors Wick. He's said as much several times.

As can I, i was there when we asked if him or Brett were leaving...he is not and seemed positive that Brett was staying

One-Smooth-Poke YOU are full of shit.
I was asked by someone to stop using players names so that is why I said "someone".
And Thompson was never a "passing QB". He ran the wing T in high school. He IS a power QB.

And Brett is not leaning towards leaving. You are just making shit up.

Who's full of shit now? He burned his redshirt in 2012, but they redshirted him again in 2013. This upcoming season will be Thompson's redshirt sophomore year.

+1,000!!!!
So if Thompson left NOW, after his red-shirt freshman season, he would have two year to play...That would be dumb as hell.
2012: Freshman
2013: RS-Freshman
2014: Transfer-INELIGIBLE
2015: RS-Junior
2016: RS-Senior

Wow how dumb would that be?

But now, he will back up Brett next season, AND get to play.
Bohl will obviously start Smith, and not pull Smith unless we are down 30 or up 30, but at the same time, he knows that the success over Thompsons career is what will likely make or break Bohl as a head coach (meaning Thompson should be the starter for Bohls 2nd and 3rd seasons at Wyo). So he will try and get as many situations as possible to play Thompson.
He will probably want to blow out Montana (easier said than done) and blowout FIU so Thompson can get a lot of reps.
And it won't be the type that Thorton was getting, only passing it like 3 times all season, and just handing the ball off.
When Thompson comes in next season, it will be to actually play.
The team has the talent to win a lot of games, and with the right coaching they can get some leads where Thompson can play a decent amount in 4 or 5 games.
Especially if we get a 2nd FCS team on the schedule.
Smith will likely have another very strong season, and then it's Thompsons turn.

Why would two qbs whos skill set is geared for passing or running a spread stick around in a run oriented offense? They will do whats best for themselves not whats best for the fans. And whats best for them is to do what darden did. Transfer to a team that highlights his skills in hopes of making it to the next level. Beaver poke hears exactly what they want him to hear. They arent going to tell him they are leaving. You guys are pushing yyur own hopes onto what they will do not on whats best for the players.

Stanford runs a similar pro-style power run based offense. They've developed top flight quarterbacking in that scheme. Tedford would have brought a run-based pro style offense as well.
