Brett Smith MW POY

Smith and Carr are co-MW POY's.

They both threw for 7 TDs, and are deserving but I think Brett should get it all to himself. 640 yards in 1 game...That's the highest in the NCAA this season. Plus he had that rushing TD. 8 total TDs > 7

I believe that the votes for player of the year are made after the conclusion of the regular season and championship game.

Congrats to Brett for Co-Player of the Week although! Smith did deserve the honor exclusively based upon his numbers, but I understand why Carr got the nod as well.

And Smith finally broke that 3000 yard mark for passing in 1 season, and broke the 10,000 yard mark for passing after 3 years.

Think what he could do with an actual o-line.

Yeah I meant POW not POY.

No way Brett wins POY this season. Carr has that locked up already.

He's at 8,667 passing, over 10,000 for total not sure if that's what you meant but yeah point taken, glad he finally broke that barrier. He'll be over 11,000 passing and 100 tds for his career which is insane. Derek Carr and Colin Kaepernick numbers, and we will surely 10,098 passing and 86 tds. Carr has 11,708 and 102 in his career. Brett would need probably 3800 plus yds passing next year to pass Carr, a tall order but not impossible.

Don't count the eggs before they are hatched. This will be an interesting off-season. Hopefully Brett will be back and he is allowed to thrive under a new coach.

Smith was number 1 here. Doesn't the MW search the web?

I'm surprised Hawaii's QB didn't make that list.

He's coming back. According to Thompson.

Unless we hire the worst most underwhelming coach on the planet in which riots ensue, he's not leaving his brothers, especially his roommates Eddie and Dom. Beav, and Thompson says no way he's leaving? I would assume the same would be true of Eddie. Again, we have a nice core for a decent staff to build around and improve this club and get some momentum going.

Yeah, Wyokoke and I were talking to Thompson for about a half hour waiting for class and we asked him about if DC is being fired and he said he has been hearing the same rumors we are. We asked if Brett would leave and transfer to a different school and Thompson IMMEDIATELY said "No he is staying no matter what".
Thompson also said he is staying.

I haven't asked Wick, but I am pretty sure he isn't transferring. The players, for the most part, love it here.
They love being Wyo Cowboys.
So with that in mind, why not get a new coach?
Or at the VERY least, give DC some money to hire some defensive minded coaches.

Fantastic! Laramie really is a great college town! (although I do doubt that any player would openly admit to consider transferring)

I don't think the o-line is all that bad. I just think they are totally predictable. Our offensive play calling has turned out to be pretty vanilla - its only maybe a dozen plays repeated over and over again.

We can occassionally get some decent protection, yes, but most of the time even undersized linebackers and linemen seem to have their way with our o-line. Predictable playcalling or not, blocking up front has been a major issue ever since Joe Glenn was here.
