Brett Smith Memories

I think this thread would be a great place to put pictures highlights or memories in general of Brett Smith. My favorite memory was during the CSU Wyoming game in 2011 at Fort Collins. Brett Smith as a freshman takes us on the road and beats our rival and then after the game jumped into the stands lambo style and showed the fans his appreciation. In this picture I was the hand holding him up by his shoulder pads so he didn't fall :)

Loved the game and loved being able to share this memory with Brett!

The game winning TD pass against Weber State in the final minute of the game in his first career start!

Also someone should lock SDPoke out of this thread.

AFA/Hawaii debacles this season. It was clear Brett was on another level. He will be incredibly tough to replace. Special talent. He will make Poke fans proud in the NFL.

I'd have to say this is mine as well. It was my first game as a student at UW and it was under the lights. It was just awesome watching him win the game at the very end.

I thought of one more story that I love of Brett. When Brett got here in the spring and acs was not returning poke nation was angry and depressed.

Brett posted a message on Facebook that basically said "don't worry guys that's why I came here" most reasonable fans thought he was some cocky freshman who thought he was something special but was doomed for disappointment but he came in and showed us he was the real deal. He won 8 games his freshman year and we knew he was special.

This is getting a little bit silly now...some of you are beginning to scare me.

The guy announced he is leaving the program to pursue an NFL career - he isn't dead.

This is starting to border on unhealthy obsession.

Go Pokes.

Just recognizing an elite player that will not wear a cowboy jersey again. As a fan "short for fanatic" why wouldn't you have a thread like this on a fan forum?

A few other threads have documented the same exact things...I'm just waiting for the next shoe to drop. As in someone stating next that they just named their newborn: Brett Smith Reynolds.

Lol...

From now on moving forward, out of respect to the man, every quarterback shall be known as Brett Smith...no matter what there name is :)

I would have to say his game against SDSU on the road in 2011. We had always struggled there and he made a few big plays that sealed that game.

Big time as a true freshman.

Being in attendance at the Nebraska game out in Lincoln this past year, man I'm glad i went, after talking to all their fans and they really really wished they had a QB of his caliber, I can remember my 1st thoughts after that game, if Brett plays to this caliber he'll declare for the Draft after this year, I truly felt that and really couldn't believe I was watching us hang with a top caliber team. The Hawaii game yes he was on a different level and it was too bad he couldn't have had an O line help me more this year, just imagine what his #'s coulda been.
He truly was fun to watch and it really gave me hope game in and game out, and I was excited to know that with such a weapon we always had a chance to win game in and game out. Over last year with the injuries it really exposed us to the type of team we really were, and we lost those games without him!!
I think he could truly benefit learning a new system under Coach Bohl, pro style offense, but I think he doesn't want to invest anymore time or energy in getting knocked around, potentially getting hurt again, and although I think this is more his dad talking, if you have a chance to move on and make some serious $$$ GO FOR IT.
I will always remember his time here and glad to know we had a QB that the nation was talking about!!
Good Luck Brett, and Go POKES
Would love him to land in Arizona!!!

Sounds good.

Kind of like when a Pope is elected. They change their name.

So, We'll have Brett Smith I. Jason Thompson may become Brett Smith II.

Can we just call them Quarterback Brett the First and Quarterback Brett the Second?

Name the roster spot similar to how Stanford names its coordinators.

The Brett Smith position of offesnive playmaking-Jason Thompson #17 Rso.

My daughter will be born in March and she will be named Brett (ok middle name)

I already started a thread for Brett memories! My favorite is when he led the team to a win over that big time school. Oh wait, I dreamed that. Nevermind.
