Brett gets some love from ESPN

Mark Schlabach gave Brett some love today as he put him as his #5 precision passer this week. Some pretty big names on the list with him in Landry Jones (OU), Tajh Boyd (Clemson), Jordan Lynch (Northern Illinois), and Stephen Morris (Miami).

5. Brett Smith, Wyoming
Smith completed 25 of 33 passes for a career-high 412 yards and three touchdowns in Wyoming's 28-23 win over UNLV. He has 11 passing touchdowns and no interceptions in November, tied with Aaron Murray (plus-11) for the best touchdown-to-interception ratio in FBS this month.

Smith is only 100 yards behind his total passing stats from last year. If he had played in Cal Poly and the Air Force games, along with completing the UNR and Toledo games, wow. He would be hitting right around 3000 yards.

And people were telling me after the Nevada game that Smith was having a Sophmore slump...HA! These are some of the best QB numbers that we've have since, well since Wallwork in 96. Yeah Bramlet may have had 3,000 passing but his best td-int ratio was 22-9 his senior year. Smitty only gets to play in 9 games and two quarters this year (by the end of the SDSU game) and he will be pushing 3,000 and close to 30 tds with the fewest ints we've had in practically EVER!

Go Smith!!! Go DC! Thank you for recruiting Smith when no one else really wanted him! GO POKES!!!

I think some PAC-12 schools are wishing they did recruit him (Utah for one comes to mind). But I am glad we got Smith, the kid hated to lose, and fights with everything he has to lead the team to vcitory.

UCLA has realized that they missed on him and are going after his brother.

It's too bad we didn't get him voted at least into the second round of the Davey O'Brien award voting. Brett Smith is something special here at UW and we need to let him know we appreciate his efforts.

Brett Smith is the best qb WY has ever had, and it is awesome that he is only a sophmore.

PS Fuck You BYU

Brett is a beast and the sky is the limit for him the next two years. I just pray we dont play another cheapt shot Toledo type team that head hunts him. Bastards..
