Brett Declares!

Apparently some scouts think Herron may go 2nd or 3rd round as well. Both would be great publicity for Wyoming....but obviously would signify that the Pokes are losing two very good talents on the team. Those who think they will be easily replaced are steering on the side of wishful thinking.

Hey, Beaverpoke, how about all that "inside" knowledge you had? You dont know anything about what your talking about. I told you Smith was going early. Now, watch the enrollment roster. There is a possibility that a receiver could be transferring to CSU. From my source, this receiver is considering transferring and will make his decision very soon (before school starts again).

Yep I was wrong about Brett leaving, I'll admit that. It doesn't change the fact that I heard that info from two players on the team.
They might not have wanted to tell the truth, or they might not have thought he was leaving, but seriously, ask Wyokoke, he was with me when we talked to Thompson about Brett leaving for the NFL.
I didn't just make this shit up bud.

I was wrong and I admit it, but I sure as hell know a lot more about what is actually going on with the team than you do.

You must have CSU-Fort Collins and CSU-Pueblo confused. Either that or it is a walk-on, which makes it irrelevant.

MWC rules make it prohibitive to transfer within conference (you lose a year of eligibility instead of redshirting and you can't receive scholarship money during that year).

I can confirm this, Thompson acted sure that Brett was back, whether that was good acting or if thats what he thought. But at least he will own up and say he was wrong, unlike a lot of people on here.

Hey Beavs, does Brett graduate this year? I think I remember someone saying that.

I don't know to be honest.
I know he came here a semester early, so he might be graduated, but I don't know.
Let's see...
Spring of 11, summer of 11, fall of 11
spring/summer/fall of 12
spring/summer/fall of 13.
Let's assume he took the minimum of 12 for spring and fall making 6 "real" semester, making 72 credits.
And let's say he took 6 credits each summer (morning and afternoon class) making a total of 18 for the 3 summers. 90 total, and that is IF he took the BARE MINIMUM, and didn't take winter break classes.
I throw in the winter break thing because I know some football players do that. I think some might do it to save face with their GPA rather than work towards graduation, but either way, the absolute minimum he should be at is 90. But, it would not surprise me at all if he graduated already or if he is a handful of classes away from graduating.
Maybe over the summer he will take a few online classes and finish up, or maybe in the future.

I mean, if he graduated high school early, as smart as he is, and his work ethic, he could have easily graduated.

He's said he hasn't graduates, but plans to. He promised his dad he would.

I bet he enrolls in classes this spring and graduates. All the while, working out with some people who know what they are doing.

You can tell the Beav is all worked up.

He used more F words in the last couple posts than in the last 50 combined.

I don't know if this is serious or not...
But I used the F bomb on 1 post in the last two pages of this thread, and there are others who have used it once or more so......

Man, I'm really going to miss Brett. He was great, and even with a subpar transition season probably would have owned the most passing yards record. He was close to being number 1 in every category except INTs. And that makes for a great QB! Go Brett Smith!!! I will be cheering wherever you go, except KC.

+1
But add Oakland and San Diego to that list. And the Patriots.

Wow. He will be missed. I'm a little shocked, but he must have information that says he goes high.

He has good size and pretty good arm strength. He also has good athleticism.

My surprise comes from his accuracy, ability to read defenses, and ability to work through progressions. i think he has a lot of work to do in these areas to be successful in the nfl. It will be interesting and I wish him the best.

I have a whole new respect for the Smith family. In the last 2 weeks I have received autographed pictures for my kids for Christmas gifts. I had no idea that they were meeting with Craig Bohl for anything. But I'll be darned, if the pics didn't show up in the mail today. I think so highly of that family and truly wish him the best. He will be missed, but I don't fault him one bit.

I know for a fact that this was one of the most difficult decisions brett has ever had to make. if you go to most projections they have him going before the 4th round. I cannot blame him one bit. I am proud that he was a cowboy. I know him and his family will always love the state and the school. And he has been a great ambassador for the state and the school.

I'm a huge Brett Smith fan and will follow him closely.

You people are too damned picky. Even if Brett goes to the Denver Donkeys, I'll root for him. Why? I root for players, not teams (though Green Bay might be the ecxeption at times).

Yeah about that. I don't root for players, I root for the Broncos.
Sure I cheer for Chris Pro and Gipson but will not hesitate to cheer when Peyton burns them for TDs.
I won't cheer for the Raiders ever, and if Brett is on the Raiders, I hope he gets traded immediately.
