I'm a big fan of salary caps for coaches in college football to help level the playing field. I'm also a big fan of taking a good chunk of the teams profits and distributing them into federal student aid and scholarships.

Umm, things are headed in exactly the opposite direction.

The only rule changes that should be considered are the ridiculous rules that have hampered defenses for years. DB's can hardly play defense anymore, let them be more physical. No more targeting rules. No more helmet to helmet If you go over the middle, prepare to get killed. This is why offenses have such an advantage. With these kind of rules in place why wouldn't you go with a passing heavy offense? All the rule changes have catered to create more passing.
