Brendan Lane is an economics major according to his profile,

Cowboy Junky

Well-known member
He has a relationship with Scott Duncan. Someone needs to show this guy the business school. He's transferring to get a masters and doesn't have to sit out because he graduated from UCLA.

In addition, he would get a chance to start at center in the best basketball league in the western United States.

Brendan Lane would be a good fit.

Luckily, we have some business assets at UW.

Guy didn't seem to be very productive. Whether it was because he was low on the depth chart or what, his stats, rebounds OR points per game, leave something to be desired.

It's a good gamble. Only one year and he brings in a lot of maturity and fills some holes while our young team develops without a long term commitment. Couldn't hurt, especially if your recruiting pool has shrank.

agree with this. I dont know nothing about the kid, but I do know ucla was far from a good team and he could only pull 15 mins. a game?

Obviously he has some ties here with Duncan. And yes he did not get to play that much last year, but if you look at his stats freshman to sophomore to junior it shows progression the first two years and then some immediate set back last year. To me it says there were some other issues at UCLA, wether it was with him or the staff or what ever. Not that he sucks. I think if we want him, we can get him. Look at a lot of the former PAC 10/12 players who came to the MWC and had success. Drew Gordon at UNM and Leonard at WYO just to name two.
Maybe it's me wearing brown and gold goggles but I think if Duncan tells Shyatt we need him, we will get him. If we do not want him, then good luck to where ever he goes.

I think if Coach Shy & Duncan don't think he would be an asset to the team, they wouldn't offer him. It is late in the recruiting year, and Washington may be questionable for the upcoming season.
