Brandon Miller

I thought Brandon Miller was a senior, but he is listed as a junior from this past year. I am assuming he redshirted his freshman year.
The kid isn't going to the NFL or anything but he will be a solid contributor again as he has been the last 2 years.
I like the fact that he plays WR and RB. It seems the last 2 seasons that he starts at one position and ends at another.
His numbers:
2010: 22 total yards (all rushing), 0 TD
2011: 563 total yards, 3 TD
2012: 656 total yards, 3 TD

I hope that he can help the team again this fall. He might fall off a little bit, since we have Wick and May at RB and we have Rufran, Herron, Claiborne, Norman, along with the redshirts. But then again he might end up having a breakout season.

Anyways... Go Pokes. Good to have more productive players coming back.

I think he got switched to wr for good. We have young depth at the rb position, especially if Tapscott is playing rb instead of db, as well as Omar Stover. Pair them with Wick & Mays.

If he plays receiver he will contribute well! he has great hands, decent size, and is smart... he just isn't a running back IMO

I agree he is not a RB but can really contribute as a receiver as he has shown. He is a former walkon. He plays hard! Definitely a guy to root for!

I dig watching Miller play. Not a lot of speed or flash, but he finds ways to get open. Having a senior out there with his experience will pay dividends during the season. I expect Wick and May to do big things this season. They both came in as true freshmen with not much knowledge of the system, but still performed well. With a year of experience under their belt and the off season training program in full swing I think we will see a significant increase in running game production. I love the addition of the big TE Krill. Maybe this will be a sign that we might see some form of a power set. I think we need to keep Brett in the pocket unless he sees a nice opportunity to take off with out taking too much punishment. Let the backs take those hits, not our franchise QB.

I agree.
I like the fact that Brett ran less than he did as a freshman. I hope for his sake, (safety wise and NFL wise) he runs less and less each season, but makes his runs even more productive.
The NFL wants a guy who WILL throw but CAN run. Not the other way around. And especially at his size, maybe he puts on some more weight in the next couple of years, maybe not.

But if he shows that he is running less and less as a JR then as a SR, and throwing a LOT more, yet still happens to have a couple 60 yard runs or something like that, he is going to be a draft pick.

Miller is an excellent receiver, Once he is moving at speed we have seen him blow people away but he appears to lack line vision to hit the gap. I think receiver is a great position for him and I think if he stays there the entire year he will excel.

He is a running back........H back at times can be confused as a receiver.

He use to be but isn't anymore, He is now a full time receiver.

Just talked to a receiver on the team and he thought he was still a running back. Has not been working out with the receivers........ What ever the case I think he is a great multi-position player. I think they have 19 receivers not counting him.

I'm pretty sure they moved him around so much it doesn't matter anymore. If memory serves he was listed as starting running back and starting receiver for the same game once or twice last season.

I think one game they had a few receivers hurt and they didn't want to strip a redshirt off so they moved him for a game or two. But he is listed and practices with the running backs. My source says he is a work horse and will probably play a lot this year "packing the mail"

Miller is very talented as an H-Back . Able to run, but better as being a threat to come in when necessary and receive passes from the RB position. He gained so many yards on H-Back screens last year, it was ridiculous. He does better receiving at that position than he does at true WR.

I think you're confused as to what an H-Back is. An H-back is a hybrid tight end/fullback. Miller was just a running back that could catch, and a damn good one at that.

Not so much my friend. It can also be a Running back who also plays Slot Receiver.
