Branch Extension?

With the amazing success we've seen in the wrestling program, I think after this season would be a good time for the administration to make a statement aboout being serious about making Wyoming a perennial wrestling powerhouse. Mark Branch's current contract is up April 1, 2013. With what Branch has done in his short time here, I feel he is more than deserving to be compensated near the highest level (which for wrestling is far short of football/basketball). Wrestling is one sport that Wyoming could become a contender for a national title in, just look at schools like Cornell, Edinborough, Penn, etc. And I think the first step at that is giving Branch a nice enough contract that he would only think of leaving if his dream job came available (I would assume that is Okie State as that's his alma mater).

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
 
Absolutely needs to be done. When was the last time Wyoming was a top ten team in ANY sport? His success will only help the overall view of the University. Make it happen, trustees!
 
Agreed, he is getting it done and UW should do all it can to keep him. If we keep him we could become a national power and national title contender. You HAVE to pursue trying to keeping him here forever.
 
After last night's domination of Cal Poly, a team that UW has never beaten until last night, UW should focus on keeping this guy. He's bringing in great wrestlers and will probably finish top 5-10 this year at the national tournament. When's the last time any UW sport did that?
