boys of fall

holy crap, where has this thread gone? We WERE talking about some FFDP and Killswitch along with some REAL metal bands. Def Leopard and company were too busy examining their own packages in their gay tights! Next thing you know, someone is going to say mullets are still kinda cool!
Def Leopard and Company ARE real Metal Bands. The original ones, in fact, that so many "metal" (and I use that term lightly) bands model themselves after. Or, they just end up screaming random profanities into a microphone and call it music. :?

The hell is wrong with some people. :brick:

I listen to death metal and all the extreme metal types but I still love 80s metal. I dont see how anyone can not like the Crue, Slaughter, Spread Eagle, ect. Poison's "ride the wind" is one of the best songs of all time

Some of you guys might like my good buddies band allegaeon. They just got signed. I'm not the biggest fan of the genre but I support this band.

I don't see how anyone can like those bands. The only one that is even slightly good was Def Leopard. They might have been real cool back in the day, but time has a way changing things. Similar to mutton chops and the Conway Twitty helmet hair. Just because it was ONCE cool does not make it currently cool. I remember listening a little to those bands. I remember music videos where guys place their backs to each and sing into the same microphone. I believe I was listening to NWA during those years.

Didn't that chick on the hood of the car in the Whitesnake videos date a pro baseball player and then domestically batter him????

Yep! Her name is Tawny Kitaen. She also played Tom Hanks' wife-to-be in Bachelor Party and was one of O.J. Simpson's love interests back late 80's-early 90's.

Pretty funny there. From a Chesney football video, to death metal, and political rock. Oh well, I guess thats what makes the world go round.

Now...onto the mullet comment...they are coming back, as sick as it is. In fact, take a close look at some of our Cowboy Football players this fall.

If you guys want some good pump up music for football, here's a playlist that us coaches put together for our team last year. Some of these groups you might not even have heard of.

12 Stones- Anthem for the Underdog
12 Stones- Adrenaline
12 Stones- Back Up
12-Stones- We Are One
Chevelle- Emotional Drought
Pillar- Not Without A Fight
Pillar- For the Love of the Game
Pillar- Throwdown
Pillar- Bring Me Down
Pillar- Fire On the Inside
Saliva- Click Click Boom
Saliva- Lady's and Gentlemen
Saliva- Superstar
Decyfer Down- Fading
Creed- Freedom Fighter
Bon Jovi- Wanted Dead or Alive
Fort Minor- Remember the Name
Nelly- Here comes the Boom
Kanye West- Stronger
Papa Roach- Last Resort
Project 86- Evil (A chorus of resistance)
Project 86- Pipedream
Project 86- Destroyer
Skillet- Monster
Thousand Foot Krutch (TFK)- Move
TFK- Smack Down
TFK- Rawkfist
TFK-Bounce
Three Days Grace- Riot
Three Days Grace- Animal I Have Become
Trapt- Headstrong
POD- Boom
RED- Overtake You

And definitely Five Finger Death Punch and some of the good ole beats of Metallica and ACDC. Our Kids voted all these songs in. Check'em out. They hold me over till football season!

Nice list. I'm not a fan of Creed, but I definitely see a theme. I believe you need some Demon Hunter there too :) This is easily my favorite Red song, though it's definitely not a pump-up song:

As far as Christian Rock goes, I'm friends with Pete Nelson of the Kry (who just had a short reunion for Heaven Fest). He's one of the most awesome people I've ever met.

Pretty good song, but I don't get how it pumps anybody up... I need something heavier/faster to get my blood going.

I wasn't suggesting it gets me pumped up with adrenaline, more meant that the song triggers that excitement that comes with the start of a new football season, much in the same manner that the cool crisp mornings start hinting at fall gets me excited for the start of the season.

I like it. Could use some clean vocals on the chorus though

Who said anything about cool? I could give a shit about being trendy. I like it for the music.

Hell yeah. The music rocks (pun intended) from the 80s. Now a days, not so much (unless it's one of the older bands that are touring like AC/DC in Denver a couple years ago or KISS in Cheyenne for Frontier Days).
