This is the new display Walmart in Laramie has put up this week. Another reason to hate them.

That sucks but if I boycott Wal-Mart here in Laramie I really have no place to shop.

Yeah, hard to stop shopping there altogether. That's the only option for some people.

With that said, that would piss off any fan. The overused "big brother-little brother" concept between Nebraska-Wyoming won't change with crap like that happening.

Haha very true. I just can't believe you would do that here in Laramie.

They did I wouldn't but the Nebraska gear has been growing in their he past month. I will be out front of that Wal-Mart Saturday morning selling popcorn for the Cub Scouts, selling popcorn to Cornhusker fans it just feels right!!!

Stuff Like that pisses me off. I rarely shop there, but will make sure I avoid it if that is how they support Laramie and UW.

I was there earlier today and completely missed it (was busy getting a few things because I head to Fort Collins in the morning).

Had I seen it, I would have stacked more pop cases after it to say "will lose!"

I went in there tonight to pick up some Nyquil and saw that. It gave me the urge to push the whole damn display over. The shirts next to it put me over. If I wasn't so sick I would probably be in Walmart lockdown right now for causing mass damage

Would be cool to see if anyone's Cowboy enough to at least reorganize the thing....

I'm your huckleberry. Going to drive down to Laramie & go there tonight.

Walmart, you have been warned. Your display goes down, tonight. :willybs:

Another reason to hate Wal-Mart, apart from them willingly screwing over farmers and small business owners alike after getting them excited about contracts and purchases - not to mention all the local stores and shops they put out of business.

Wal-Mart IS evil... ever since Sam Walton died, they started using shadier and shadier business tactics, and now this? An 'N' in a Laramie Wal-Mart? Too bad that tornado a few years ago wasn't bigger and destroyed the whole thing.

Who's genius idea was this? You're going to piss off 20,000+ Wyoming fans going to the game plus your local customer base to make a few bucks on the 7-8k Nubb fans for a weekend? That doesn't sound like a very good business decision.

Is the manager a Nebraska alum? I'm sure there's a punchline in there somewhere, but seriously? And the t-shirts on top of it?

Boycotting sounds about right, but other store owners in the area need to make a marketing effort around this. "We support the Cowboys, not their oppenents" or something like that would go a long way towards drawing business away from Wal-mart. And if the University does anything official with them (isn't there a broadcast there on gameday?) that needs to stop yesterday.

GO POKES!!

The last store manager i knew there was from Cheyenne but that was just over a year ago..... I don't live there anymore so I don't know if the manager has changed.

Sounds like we need a phone # or email or both for this store manager.. time to send him some email about his poor decision.

I avoid Wal-Mart as a rule. As long as there's an alternative source for whatever I'm looking for, I'll skip the Wally World. It's not out of the whole "unfair competition" thing, I'm a pretty pure Objectivist, but mostly because I just don't care for muffin tops, mullets, tank tops, and flip-flops.

As for this Wal-Mart's decision, I'd say they're setting themselves up for some well-deserved patron-driven punishment. Problem is, most people in Laramie are too undisciplined and single-critical about their financial decisions (it's all about what's better for their pocketbook, not whether the transaction brings personal pleasure and community strength and identity) that I doubt any sort of action would last long.

To be fair isn't a Wyoming display next to it as well? I view it as showing our matchup against them, not support for Nubraska
