Bowl Scenario????

If UNLV wins tonight (its 20-17 for UNLV at end of 3rd quarter), then wyoming can eliminate UNLV and CSU from bowl game eligibility. New Mexico will be eliminated if they lose to UNLV. Who in the hell would have seriously thought we could go to a bowl game???? I certainly would never have thought so. Shit, if we go to a bowl game then Glenn and Cole will be back next year.....I seriously dont think Glenn coming back is a good thing. Cole cant call a game to save his life. Our offense is still stagnant and terrible and they couldnt find the end zone nor does Cole let them throw the ball (helloooooo Cole.....play action pass). BUT, it would be great for the kids. They have played their heart out. IMHO, I believe that the kids have played hard, but they lack leadership from the coaches. All in all, if the Pokes go to a bowl game, the experience for the kids will be well worth while, even if that means that we have to keep Glenn for one more year before they run him off. What does everyone think? Would you have thought we would be in control of our own destiny 3 weeks ago?

AND DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THAT GLENN HAD A HEADSET ON TODAY? I was amazed that he knew what a headset was, little lone that he would put one on.

I guess I'm looking at it differently. I was rooting for BYU. They are going to be bowl eligible no matter what, same with Utah, TCU, & AFA. If those guys can help keep some other schools from getting eligible like CSU, NM, UNLV then that works to our advantage. Luckily blowout losses still only count as one loss, so I'm hoping we can play better than we have this year, win out against teams with losing records and end up 1 of only 5 MWC teams Bowl eligible. We needed BYU, Utah, and TCU to win, it was just about a perfect weekend.

This week the Utah-TCU won't impact the Pokes but will be fun to watch. BYU-SDSU won't impact the Pokes either (so I guess an SDSU win would be funny/preferred). I think we need AFA to beat CSU, UNLV to beat NM, and of course the Pokes need to beat the Vols. Thus far UNLV and CSU have played better than we have against conference opponents, but I am still pulling for our guys to play better down the stretch and get to a bowl game.


HELL YEAH, THIS WEEKEND WORKED OUT JUST THE WAY I PLANNED IT, THE DEVIL NOW OWNS MY SOUL, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. SERIOUSLY, AS THE DAY WENT ON THE MORE EXCITED I GOT. WE STILL NEED TO WIN TO MAKE IT WORK TO OUR ADVANTAGE, BUT TODAY WAS A GREAT DAY.

I am STILL in shock. I just got home from my drive to Knoxville. I am SO glad I decided to go to the game now and witness a historic moment. I know that TENN. is way down right now, but it is still a huge W for us and our conference. It was fun hanging out with the team after the game before they got on the bus, I just wanted to soak it all in. I REALLY hope we win at Sam Boyd, as I am flying out for the CSU game. GO POKES!!

Well to be fair, we are getting help from our conference mates. Utah needs to win out and go to the Fiesta, BYU will probably go to Vegas, AFA to the Armed Forces Bowl, TCU to the Poinsetta, and hopefully UW to the NM Bowl. CSU and UNM losing yesterday helped, now we completely control our future, we have to beat UNLV and CSU, but if we do, bowl baby!

That's been the story of the Joe Glenn era. We find a way to play half a season, just no one ever knows which half its going to be.
