Bowl Games

To me, it is looking more and more like the Independence Bowl in LA.

I found this site interesting. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/45376614/ns/sports-college_football/page/2/

A game against NC State intrigues me. I think it is winnable, but looks like they are hard to predict anything about. Wins against subpar teams. Total losses to teams like FSU, then a win vs Clemson this past weekend? I would love to go to the New Mex Bowl (for selfish reasons, because I can attend in person), however, the idea of getting the Cowboys in th deep South I kind of like.

09/03/11 vs. Liberty Raleigh, N.C. W, 43-21
09/10/11 at Wake Forest Winston-Salem, N.C. L, 34-27
09/17/11 vs. South Alabama Raleigh, N.C. W, 35-13
09/22/11 at Cincinnati Cincinnati, Ohio L, 44-14
10/01/11 vs. #21/21 Georgia Tech Raleigh, N.C. L, 45-35
10/08/11 vs. Central Michigan Raleigh, N.C. W, 38-24
10/22/11 at Virginia Charlottesville, Va. W, 28-14
10/29/11 at Florida State Tallahassee, Fla. L, 34-0
11/05/11 vs. North Carolina Raleigh, N.C. W, 13-0
11/12/11 at Boston College Chestnut Hill, Mass. L, 14-10
11/19/11 vs. Clemson Raleigh, N.C. W, 37-13

The biggest beef people have with teams from the MWC is the whole "Strength of Schedule" arguement. So, whenever we get a month to prepare for a BCS team, I like. The speed is ridiculous in those confs, but it will give us a parameter to measure where we are at as a team.

Honestly, (homer fan speaking here) but this would be the best Bowl Game for the MWC.

TCU vs UCLA? Yuck. UCLA sucks. TCU will kill them.
Boise will absolutely destroy Nevada.
SDSU vs USU may shape up to be a decent matchup.

Boise State will not go to a BCS game. Last time they were undefeated and still ended up playing TCU in a BCS game. The BCS is a jacked up system. I can't see a 2 loss MWC team (TCU) going to a BCS game. Boise State is ranked higher, but how do you take someone who didn't even win their Non-AQ conf? IMO, they don't.

Will it intrigue you to see only 20 people in Brown and Gold? Unlike other conferences, the MWC bowls take teams based on choice and how much it will help them, and they cooperate with eachother. For example, the Vegas Bowl takes the first choice, which means they don't have to be 1st place. The Indy Bowl will hopefully take TCU, which makes much more sense, as they are only a 3 hour drive. I'd be happy with the New Mexico Bowl, as we would have quite a few fans make it there.

Of course it doesn't intrigue me to see 20 people dressed in B & G, but playing a BCS school does. What if we end up at NM Bowl vs USU? No thanks.

I'd be down with that one. We owe them an ass whooping!

As a lobo fan, it would be great if your team can get an invite to the Gildan New Mexico bowl. I think you would get a lot of locals to come out and support your team. I also think that Wyoming fans would bring anywhere from 5,000-7,000 fans. Also just to let you all know we will have a good participant to play the team from the Mwc. So i really hope we can see you all out here. Good Luck !!

If we go to the New Mexico or Vegas bowl, I'd hope to see more than 5,000-7,000 Wyoming fans showing up. Then again, the economy's bad and a lot of people probably can't go no matter where it is...
