Boise's invite to Big East "imminent"

Now San Diego St. is talking about going to the Big East next, won't teams have to pay an exit fee to leave the Mountain West Conference? New to the forums pretty cool
 
They would have to pay an exit fee if they choose to leave for next season, but if they go for the 2013 season, I don't think they have to..
 
Good riddance. Get Boise State out of here. Get SDSU out. Nothing says Big "East" like a team from the furthest SouthWEST you can go. Get the ^&*% out.

Sad thing is, I do actually know a couple people inside the BSU athletics department and they say its a no go.

Who knows in this ever changing landscape and maybe they aren't being told the whole truth but I'll take their word over anyone else's.
 
It ain't happening.

The only thing "imminent" is the end of the Big East's football operations. Fishing for BSU is a move beyond desperation. Boise State will sit still, and watch the Big East die.

interesting. I thought I was just helping string the BSU fans along.

I think Boise's shot is in the Big 12 in a year or two but now rumors are flying that Peterson is going to Arizona after this year

From what I have heard I don't think Peterson would leave for Arizona. That won't even be the most desirable job in the PAC at the end of the year (see UCLA). Not that he would necessarily take that one either, but if I was him I'd wait on that one before taking U of A.

Murph says it perfectly when it comes to Petersen. Don't expect him to go anywhere. Dude turned down Florida, Miami, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and most of all, Stanford (Just a few miles outside of his hometown). He likes it in Boise. He's not the type to jump to a bigger and more stressful job.

Just because he (oh, and Dirk & Hawk) were / are successful in Boise, it doesn't translate well...and history has proven that at least twice. And it starts with admission standards.
