Boise State Game Thread

Forget about 25,24,23 ranking. All that does is put a target on the Pokes back and make them think they are really hot stuff. They aren't there yet but have the tools to be. Points, but not top 25 yet -- makes 'em work harder. Just my humble but expert opinion.

You can't say it's humble then proceed to call yourself expert.

Had my Dunk Town shirt on and then they played the new video a few minutes before the game that said welcome to Dunk City. Personally I like Dunk Town USA

DunkTown isn't a blatant rip-off of Florida Gulf Coast. It's a rip-off, but at least it isn't the EXACT same thing that FGCU did.

I vote for DunkTown.

I suppose that since dunk city will soon be patented that UW is looking to get a slogan that they can actually use. Dunk Town sounds pretty good so hope they keep pushing it. I want a shirt! Also, I am disappointed that I can't find a current jersey to buy. I bet they would sell well on game day at the AA. Come on UW!

2 things...

1. You have convinced me that Dunk Town is acceptable.

2. Why do we need the ranking? If this team wants to succeed, we need to learn how to play everyone's best. We need to be the target. The longer we go unranked, the fewer opportunities we have to play teams trying to beat the big scary ranked team. Why keep going under the radar? Do we want to be a constant 26-35th best program? Or do we want to be a Top 15?

I get it though, we don't want to give SDSU of all teams any extra motivation, or a 3-1 Fresno who has had our number at their place. But, if we can get this number next to our name and persevere now, we can do it later in the season as well, when it really matters.

Because if our fear is that we lose once we get ranked, we better hope we aren't ranked towards the end of the season, but that is not what we want because that will mean a clear regression in the team.

My opinion. Get ranked. Be the one everyone wants to beat, but don't let them beat us. Just keep winning baby.

15-2. IMO, the magic number is 26 wins. JMO of course.....but 26 wins, and no super horrible losses (Nevada at home, for example)...and this team goes to the big dance with an at-large bid as long as they don't exit the MW Tournament right off the bat. Of course the goal should be to win the MW, but I think the example I listed above is the floor for going dancing if we don't win the MW.

One game at a time, but I think this is within reach. CANNOT overlook anyone though.

Ha, Ha. That was intended to be a joke type, self contradictory statement. There's probably a technical name for a statement like that but I wasn't an English major, so don't know what it is. Nice to know you were paying attention, though.

We are sitting at 15 wins. You think we need 11 more?

Does that mean finishing 10-4 with 1 one in the MWC Tourney or a 9-5 with 2 wins?

But regardless, I don't see the Pokes losing 4 or 5 games from now til then.

it was a fun game to watch and the atmosphere was somewhat rowdy but as with the team the fans have a bit to go b4 we're a factor, I had people turning around telling me to quiet down, ummmm, why??? it's a basketball game not a movie

hey stymeman, you should have seen me in 2007... I came back, on april 4th, my birthday, from Afghanistan.

my mom and brother (cowboy junky) bought tickets for the nuggets and kings game ( ron artest/meta world peace). I had been awake for about 27 hours during flight on my actual birthday. I flew against the setting sun... making for a very long b-day. when I landed, my mom and brother took me to a chili's restaurant for some drinks before the game.

needless to say. I really got under meta world peace's skin. I told him that he was a bitch, that used media for he benefit. He definitely addressed my drunk ass. but I gave him the Wyoming bird... I don't give a shit about your attitude. go suck a fat phallus dummie!

then I finally slept.

I'd love to know what that little punk Marks said to Coach Shyatt on the way back to his bench during a late 2nd half timeout. My brother picked up on the little altercation at the game, but I only saw it after reviewing the recording.

At the 2nd half 8:05 timeout, Shyatt was walking out to the middle of the floor to talk to the players. Marks said something to Shyatt as he walked by. Coach immediately turned around and shouted at Marks. He was clearly pissed. An official and WYO coaches had to step in.

Would love to know.......

Probably my single biggest bitch / complaint about Wyoming fans...right there. If you attend and don't want to yell, shout, root for your team - that is your choice, but don't chastise those that do. As I have said many of times to people that tell me to pipe down - "this isn't a piano recital, this is a football game...we are here to cheer".
