Boise State and Our future

Can we ever be as good as Boise State is right now they have made a name for themselves and are anked every year with sold out crowds, excited plays, good players, good coaches, and good facilities so can we ever be up there with Boise, TCU and Utah on a consistant basis like these teams are? I think we can it will take time we are remodeling our stadium, we seem to have a good coach to do it with too we can only hope

I think we can do what Boise has done, it just takes a jump start from a couple teams to start a winning culture. It would be a lot easier if we played the weak-ass schedule Boise plays every year.

I am pretty sure I our facilities are quite a bit better than Boise's. Our stadium is a little old, but if you have ever been to Boise's stadium, I am sure you can attest that it doesn't have anything on the War, it even seats less. They did build those sky boxes in recent years though.

We've been there before, we were the original Boise back in the 60's. DC is showing that you can get players to come to Laramie. Give him a little bit of time, I believe he is the right man for the job. We'll know a little bit more in just over 24 hours!
 
Wyoming has far superior facilities to Boise. I'd say no problem. You never know when Boise will hire the next Vic Koening to screw themselves up like we did. Roach through Dimmel were not bad years for us (5 championships), we played in a tougher conference, and we were almost always in the title hunt.

I think it's more likely than you composing an intelligible post. Seriously, the stream of consciousness stuff is okay in a Hunter Thompson book, on a message board, though, not so much.
 
Personally I didn't think Boise looked that good

Oregon and Boise are both way overrated if that is a top 15 team sample it is a weak year
 
Agree with most here, I think our facilities are better even though public perception is theirs must be good since they have the stupid blue turf. Also, we would go to bowl games ever year as well if we played in the WAC, and recruit better if we were on Thursday ESPN. Boise would be lucky to finish 4th in our league playing like they did last night.

What I do like about Boise, they are smart. They schedule one test BCS team for OOC play then destroy the WAC, they only have to be "on" one game a year, 2 if they get into the BCS. Also, they do cool things like coordinate the colors in the sections of the stands, I think it looks great on TV and to a recruit it would be impressive.

They consistently improved their program, and it took some time, but going from where they were just 10 years ago - doesn't sound too long to me. It doesn't have to take that long to start winning, but the support and public perception take a little longer. If Wyoming is committed to having a winning program, I feel it would us about 10 years to get to where they are as far as National status, recruiting history, bowl games played and won, etc. I THINK IT WOULD TAKE EVEN LESS TIME IF WE WERE IN THE WAC, BUT I DON'T WANT THAT. BEING THE TOP DOG IN THE WAC IS NOT MY VISION FOR WYOMING FOOTBALL, COMPETITIVE IN THE MWC AND NATIONALLY SHOULD BE THE GOAL.
 
I think its funny how Wyoming fans just diss on Boise state, when they have never beat Boise. Boise has the best all time record in history with 342-144-2 .704. Since 1999 Boise has bee 65-2 .970 at home. Yes they do play in a weaker conf, and that’s why they need to change. Every one says that they would get killed in the MWC but look at there record against those teams. Since 1998 they have losed one time against TCU 16-17, they are10-1 since 1998 against the MWC teams, and 4 of those wins were against Wyoming. Wyoming has never beat Boise so if I was you I would stop dissing on a team you have never beat. They have only been in 1A since 1996 and the first three years were bad with 12-21 record, but since then look what they have done. Boise is 5-4 in bowl games since 1999 and Boise only lost by 4 3 1 1, so they disserved to be in every bowl game they have ever played. And yes they do have the blue turf but it is the only team that has a different color besides green and will be the only team. NCAA passed a rule saying no other team can have a different color. We are original and Boise fans like it that way. Boise is 208-49 .809 at home that is pretty good, no other team even in the crappie conferences have that type of record. I don’t think that Boise would go into the MWC and beat every team but give them a couple years and they will be in the top three every year if not number 1. Wyoming is 35-70 since 2000 and you try to compare to Boise come on. Oh and good job on the win against Weber 29-22 that help you out a lot in polls. I think MWC should let Boise in and let’s see what happens. Boise started out as a small collage of nobodies and made it in to history, when Boise gets small time players and do what they have don’t that is incredible. Wait tell they make a bigger name for them self’s and get some better players Boise will continue to make history.

Why do Boise fans always cry when other teams don't like them? Maybe if the fans of your school weren't the biggest douches on the planet, you could get some respect around the West. I'm not sure BSU was even being "dissed," we actually were talking about how we can get to where they are now.

Congrats on pulling Wyoming's record from the darkest days in our team's history, you're 4-0 against them. You're on top right now, enjoy it while it lasts. You're not the original, your Trucker U that has had some success recently. Beware, Wyoming is well on its way to being the team that it once was and you might not escape Laramie with a W when you come here in a year or two.
 
BTW, it looks like your both a Horn fan and a Boise fan. Talk about polar opposites regarding fans. Texas fans are some of the best people I have interacted with at a game, right along with Ole Miss. Boise on the other hand...I hold them in the same regard as CU and CSU fans.
 
If you read half of the comments they say bad things about the school facility the conf the turf and how we only get into bowl games because of our conf. And yeah they are in a bad conf but you have to start some where just 13 years ago they were in AA and now 13 years later this is where there at. And yes some of the comments were not going against Boise. And you say when Wyoming was good they haven’t been good since the early 90s and back. It’s been almost 20 years when Boise was still in AA. And I like how you go out and call all of Boise fans names. And I don’t know how many articles I have seen that says to take Wyoming out of the MWC and move them to the WAC and put Boise in the MWC. And Boise has a pretty nice facility they just put up the boxes, and they also have an indoor practice field. Yes it is very small and only holds around 30,000 but give them a break they just got into 1A. It takes time to build and add on, and they already have plans to expand the stadium. And people saying Boise had a horrible game against Oregon and it is true during the second half. They missed a couple chances to score the first half but they didn’t. But that was the offence the defense did great the entire game. Let’s see if they don’t get over there heads and hold it together the rest of the season and you will see them in a BCS bowl game. Wyoming was good and maybe they can bring it back.
 
and how do you get that I am a horn fan by just saying Boise lost to them last year for the first time. Yes TCU did have a great team and it was a good game. There is nothing wrong with saying a team is good. Just like BYU has a good team this year I must be there fan too
 
I can say I get testy about Boise because I am jealous. You come to Laramie in 2006 and escape with a win due to turnovers (go figure) and end up in a BSC game, win it and get all sorts of exposure when I know you were barely good enough to beat a UW team that didn't even get to go to a bowl game because NM is retarded. You start your own Bowl game to make sure you have one every year - yeah that makes me jealous, YOU ARE US...ONLY 13 YEARS LATER, timing is everything. We have the #5 team in the country beat in 1996 with a minute to go and end up losing in OT, finish 10-2 and no bowl game at all. We have Nat'l Champs Nebraska on the ropes late in the 4th and lose on (you guessed it, a turnover) So yeah I'm testy, I'm jealous that your so lucky to be good now, because 13 yrs ago we were invisible when we were playing at your level at now.

Now that I'm done whining I will say I root for you like a MWC team when playing OOC teams because we understand where you have been, where you are, where you want to be. That and I hate BCS ignorance.
