Boise St. @ WYO

Boise can beat any team in the nation if they are having a hot night. I dont think they are a team that can win the MWC tournament or the conference, but its tough to win games when the other team is shooting like that. I think we win the game with Martinez, unfortunately we won't have him for awhile.

To keep the AA rocking, we absolutely have to play well over the next two games. If we go 2-0, the SDSU game will be crazy.

One loss isn't bad - expecially when we lost because time just ran out. We never pulled away from Boise and they never pulled away from us. It was a fight to the end, and damn that 3 point shot was disappointing, but I think the loss is a good thing. They got that off their shoulder now.

I think we pull a few upsets this year - I don't know where we will end up post season, but hell, just 2 years ago we couldn't win a road game if we tried!

I agree with Nowherepoke - our defense isn't as good as last year and our offense is better. Wish we had just a bit more D right now....

Good Job Pokes! Powder River Let 'er Buck!!!

agreed one of the best posts on here, we'll be fine, a little faith and a world of experience goes a long way

like it's been said this is THIS YEAR, people are so quick to make judgments and then have the chicken little syndrome, keep the faith, and rally around the positive things, sure Luke's gone etc...let's watch this team for who they are, fun to watch, exciting and yes I wanted to be 14-0 but in the scheme of things who woulda thought at the beginning of this season at this point we're 13-1, man I'd take that any day any year!!! KEEP IT UP POKES!!! Beat Nevada next....let's pack the SDSU game regardless

I don't care so much about the loss, The disappointment the players will have to listen to from media etc is pretty frustrating. I really hope they ignore it and just keep playing ball.

Man that hurt... That said, still PROUD of our team and EXCITEd for the rest of the season. Coach Shyatt made a lot of good points in his press conference after the game that made me put this loss in perspective. Plus, it is REALLY hard to win win the opposing team hits 58% from the 3 point line. Boise did a good job moving the ball and using screens to get decent looks. The last play was frustrating as I am not sure how you let that guy open, screen or not. I wish we had just fouled and gone to OT with momentum.. :) Ok, maybe that is a bad idea, but their big weapon was Elorriaga and we should have had at least a hand in the vicinity of his face... Lastly, the NON INTENTIONAL FOUL call was BS and should have given us the W. That is a little bit of sore loser, yes.. but it is true. Proud of how they fought back three times to get the lead in the second half and battled. Pokes left it all on the floor. We will be fine! Go POKES!!

Tough loss but I can tell you right now that I don't think anyone beats Boise at Boise if they have all of their players. They shoot the 3 ball very well. Can't believe we didn't gaurd their best shooter on those 2 3 balls the last 30 seconds. We need to win at Nevada now on Saturday for sure.

You just explained why others will beat Boise. SDSU and UNM would not let Elloriaga find his spots at the end like we did (Grabau was watching the ball and lost him on the last play, had his head turned and didn't see the little screen that Watkins was setting up for him).

We are not a very good defensive team this year, especially without Luke. We play slow, so the scores are low, but we don't defend like last year's team. Pokes are better offensively this year in general, but the defensive holes were glaring tonight.

Really embarrassing effort frankly.

I don't think you have any idea what the fuck you are talking about! Defense is the only reason we have been winning and embarrassing effort? Down at half and take 10 pt lead and going down by 7 with 3 minutes to go and take the lead bac. Hell of an effort if u ask me!

Any tempo adjusted measure clearly shows we are better offensively than defensively this year. We play at one of the slowest tempos in the country (338th), so the scores are modest, but it has been our offense carrying us this year.

We lost last night because BSU hit 11/19 from beyond the arc and had an eFG over 50% with a low TO rate. Our offensive efficiency was pretty decent (too many TO's though), but the defensive execution wasn't there.

Keep in mind this wasn't the same BSU team that beat Creighton. They were missing their best player (which I consider equal to Luke's absence on our side) and their top 2 bench players. Yet they were able to generate good looks consistently. Sometimes teams just hit tough shots, but that wasn't the case last night. They hit their last 5 perimeter shots and all of them were decent looks.

Losing to BSU is not the problem. Losing to an undermanned BSU team in the AA is the problem. Home court advantage is huge in College Basketball.

You use words like "embarrassing" which is completely idiotic! That was a great game where both teams battled.

Your right, embarrassing is Wyoming football this year, deninitaly not this years Wyoming basketball. Wrong choice of words.

Actually it was embarrassing losing at home to a team without 4 of their top 7 players. I still think Boise wins the conference though with all of their players playing.

Derrick Marks bsu Luke Martines Wyo startes are a wash. Thompson and Buckner come off the bench, the fourth guy who knows. We played 5 guys pretty much the whole game, with cooke jr 11 min and sobey 7 min, depth is a major issue. Their effert was hardly EMBARRASSING.

Well i will tell you right now that if Boise would have had all 4 of their players the other night and Wyoming would have had Martinez , Boise would have won by more than they did.

Not sure I agree we lose if we play boise over again regardless if Marks and co. play. They will get a good performance from marks I'm sure, but not sure elioraga will perform as well. They were missing a few guys but we were offensively as well with Martinez and Nance effectively out. Next game the boys in the paint will be out for revenge

Elorriaga has been shooting like that all season. Wednesday was not some random occurrence. He's now Top 5 nationality in 3-pointers this season. If he's open, he makes it. Period. Thompson is right behind him on the team in 3-point shooting percentage, and Marks is by far the teams best player. No doubt Wyo might have gotten smashed had those players played.

Problem with this is that Nance played. So not sure what you mean by him being out? If you mean Wyoming didn't get the ball down low to him then yeah I agree with that. Not sure if it was Nances fault or the guards but wasn't his best game.

Boise shoots like that every game. If you leave any of those guys open they are almost automatic. When Marks is playing it just allows those guys to get more open looks. Boise will lose a couple of games on the road for sure because the league is so tough but they won't lose at home. I think the only team that would have a chance to beat them at Boise is UNLV because of the individual talent UNLV has but the problem with them is that they have horrible coaching and don't play as a team so I don't think UNLV will be able to pull it off either.

If Boise gets those 4 suspended players back for next Wednesdays game against New Mexico they will smash the Lobos in Boise.

Boise gets Marks and Thompson back. Buckner still out.

Nance being out as in he wasn't effective it was basically like he wasn't there at all.
