Do NOT agree at all. Tiller was an excellent coach at Wyoming.

Is he already shopping to get the hell outta here, my question is if he's such a "great head coach" why do we have him, said that at the time of the hire
One of Purdues best. He was pretty average for us at the time, aside from the year he took the safety vs. BYU in the championship game. Before that season he was about .500 every season. That might seem good now, but following Roach it was pretty hard to tolerate.

I know man I lived it while I was in school there, and yes he did things that drove me nutz, BUT, I always say if we woulda ponyied up the $ he coulda been our best, imo, and we could/should try to lure him away from the Dash Inn and see if he'd help us someday again
I'll see what I can do, but it is tough to lure someone away from the Dash.

Players were not fans of his here either. That was part of the reason he got run out of town.Cowboy Junky said:OrediggerPoke said:Cowboy Junky said:Tiller was great at Purdue, but was an average head coach in Wyoming.

He was an excellent o.c. for Wyoming, but I think his head coaching tenure was average, especially following the success Roach had.
Roach 87 10-3
Roach 88 11-2
Roach 89 5-6
Roach 90 9-4
Tiller 91 4-6-1
Tiller 92 5-7
Tiller 93 8-4
Tiller 94 6-6
Tiller 95 6-5
Tiller 96 10-2
He was around .500 for four seasons with two good years in there. I will say he was slightly above average, especially since he avoided any bad seasons, but following Roach there was a lot of people that weren't satisfied with .500. I was one of them. Then when he took the safety and gifted BYU the game, his fate was sealed. We let him go.
I would take him over any coach we've hired since with the possible exception of Bohl. That doesn't change his 39-30-1 record at Wyoming though. He WAS slightly above average while he was here.

Oh, no doubt. Grew up on the other side of the Bighorns (as in west of the Bighorns). One of the things that still gets me to chuckle a bit is when I hear someone from Sheridan say on the other side of the Bighorns referencing Buffalo/US16 vs Sheridan/US14. It is good to be back home.
The Basin side of the Big Horns is God's Country. I think you two may have it wrong lolExpat_Poke said:stymeman said:It's better up here in Brown and Gold land and Buffalo and the Bighorns are God's Country, enjoy!!

Cowboy Junky said:Bohl was committed to NDSU for a long time. He turned down a lot of job offers before Wyoming, waiting for the right fit.
I don't think he'll just run off to anybody. I think he's perfectly content to wait for the Nebraska job to open up from the comforts of Laramie.
I don't think we'll lose him to anyone other than Nebraska. He likes it here.
lakesbison said:I agree with this. Bohl has his wyoming land for retirement, my friend Leia loves horse back riding, I see him trying to get 3 more years from Wyoming with a big monetary contract and retire there in 5 years

Interesting thought. Please explain.
