The old school one from 88'- whenever that gives all the glory day livers boners . I'm sure there will be push for "traditional" unis. They are the ones that were consistently in top 10 worst unis in sport.
I too think those uniforms are overrated. The gold back then leaned too much towards highlighter yellow for my liking. The current gold is better.

Don't tell that to wyokie....he still thinks that's the greatest look ever.

I'm still waiting to see the brown helmet with the large steamboat.

THE 1987-96 UNIFORMS ARE NOT OVERRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!! :tickedoff:

We won 2 outright WAC Championships, 1 shared WAC Championship (sadly it was with the un-named ones :tickedoff: ) and the 1996 WAC Pacific Division championship with those unforms!!!

Overrated no, Ugly yes.

Somewhere, BeaverPoke kicked a random dog and doesn't know why. Your infatuation with that nostalgic look is hilariously ridiculous. Wyoming's current white helmet, brown jersey, gold pants look is much more visually appealing than the stomach-showing days of the late 80s and early 90s.

+1

Holy shit I was getting so....I don't know how to explain it...but that pic certainly explains how I feel.

Wyokie do you watch Family Guy? This last Sunday there was an episode where they had Stewie in the future and he was yelling at some kids for their music taste and he said "Back in my day we had good music, it was Katy Perry and Justin Bieber".

You gotta realize just because YOU are a product of the 80s doesn't mean that there has never been anything good since.

And the jerseys...omg dude...let it go.

And don't say "At least we won with those".

You complain about the Broncos "new" jerseys, ya know the ones they changed over 15 years ago, yet they won back to back Super Bowls when they switched.

Just...so much "WTF" to respond to in this thread.

So when we bring back the old jerseys and lose in them, does Wyokie have a nervous breakdown?

"It doesn't make sense, we wore the jerseys, we should win damnit, we should win....!"

P.S. Get used to the new helmets because you will NEVER see the old ones in college football again. Too much liability to use them when they are proven to be less safe.

fuck, they've even moved on passed the revolution helmets!

Let the fight against concussions begin....

The way concussions are moving is insane. Most sports medicine policies evolve over a 5-10 year pace, concussion policies in the NCAA are evolving monthly right now! Just a few years ago everyone was instructed to wake every few hours, now they are told to sleep as long as they can. Today, concussed athletes are not allowed any physical activity until they are symptom-free, but the newest research is showing that new guidelines will have athletes getting on the treadmill on Day 1. Who knows what changes we'll see in 2-3 years.

I doubt it was the horrible shit uniforms but more the players and coaches. I would be so disappointed if we ever went back to that horseshit

I don't care about uniforms; I care about winning.

What I do know is that uniforms are important to recruits. A recruit will not base his decision entirely on uniforms, obviously, but uniforms do play into the recruiting process and team image.

Thus, I'm for whatever uniform the new generation likes, and whatever uniform helps instill a positive image of UW in the minds of recruits.

I'm much more concerned about our tradition of losing than any damn uniform.

I, for one, like that so many people are doing so much more research on brain injuries now.

The jerseys, like the recruiting zones mentioned in the interview and discussed in the other thread, all comes down to knowing who you are. That seems to be the theme of Bohl's first spring: a return to Cowboy tough football.

Its more than just a scheme change. Its a mentality. Its a culture. That's what Bohl is trying to instill in these kids here.

Will it work? Maybe, maybe not. But we already know that going to the spread offense and the fancy uniforms didn't win games.

One thing we do know, the fancy uniforms didn't LOSE the games either. I cannot believe this topic is so heated around here. They're uniforms! Nothing more Nothing less. FSU could have been wearing their helmets and neon green bikini briefs and they still would have destroyed everyone. LET THIS GO PEOPLE!!!

I never said they won any games.
I never disagreed with you....My point was that uniforms change one thing and one thing only on the field......The way we look running through the plays. Thats it. The don't win us games and we certainly don't lose games because of them.

except the white pants....i'm pretty sure them things are cursed

One more thing about the uniforms...

I always thought that the NDSU yellow jerseys were the ugliest jerseys. I always hoped they would switch to a green scheme.

The key I was trying to communicate is that Bohl just wants to stay consistent, and know who you are. Like Bohl said in the interview, Wyoming ranchers can identify with the team. They don't buy into all the flashy uniform changes. They want consistency, and hard-nosed football.

YES!!! I always loved NDSU's copy-cat Packers look......Yellow helmet, green jersey, yellow pants. Lately they've worn that terrible yellow jersey instead.

The title of the thread almost gave me a heart attack...At first I thought it was, "Bohl to Interview in Nebraska".

Jeez...

My thoughts to a T. I too like what HCCB has to say as a fan, but I'm certainly not going to help the team win any games. Focus needs to be on stud players, not grumpy ranchers. If you can get winners to come to UW in part because of a modern uniform, change it up. The fans will come as long as they win. I'm wodering if the fans that want to have the same uni's as the '88 team are still wearing their clothes from '88 too.
