I think we all agree Tormey is not the answer. What if, just what if we could pick up Hauck as the new defensive coordinator. Thoughts?

I think that is fucking retarded. Hauck sucks ass. Frying pan, into fryer. Stupid idea.

I think part of the problem is finding someone who is a proven DC who pictures themeselves in Laramie. I am curious to see if there is a new dc next year. I kind of doubt it, I think coach C will give him one more year to prove himself. If next year things don't get better there will probably be a few changes and DC may be one of them.

Why don't we look to go grab Breske from WSU. Leach hasn't done much as far as making things all nice and fuzzy in Pullman. If not him, why not look at Mike Elko @ BGSU or Tracy Claeys from NIU. These guys are at least showing that they can do something...unlike Tormey.

I'd love to get Breske back. His D and Brandon's O... Wowza.

So would I, but unless Leach and staff are fired, we won't be seeing him anytime soon.

Breske's D may have been better than our current defense but I don't understand WYO fan's love affair for him. We still got trucked by good teams under his defense.

Because our offense either turned the ball over or went 3 and out. Now, we actually have an offense. Though, the o-line needs to protect Smith better, we still have an offense that can move the ball and score points. Combine that with what Breske could do, and we could do very well. I don't know about a defense like what we had in 2006 (though I would not complain), but it would be a lot better than what has been.

Was he not our DC when we were a top 25 defense?

The whole "why don't we bring in Mike Breske" talk is a bit senseless. Unfortunately, we won't be paying a d-coordinator anywhere near what Breske is making anytime soon. So, unless he is let go from WSU, he is off the radar.

Agree. But he is head and shoulders above Tormey.

The D coordinator is all on DC. If he can't get it done, it will cost DC his job eventually. Can't think that DC is that dumb, to put somebody in place (or leave somebody in place...aka Cockhill them) if they aren't doing something to increase the stock of the program.

I think we may see 1 more year of Tormey at the very least, if for nothing else than to see if the defense improves.

While I think the defense has shit for coaching I also know we lost the strength of our defense last year and this year it's just not there. I'm not sure I'm just going to say it is 100% his fault but he is the coach and shit rolls down hill and he has to take the blame before the players.

We'll see him for at least 2 more years get use to it he was just hired the team is being rebuilt even though we didn't know it had to be. Fact of the matter is in 2 years he could have proven himself but all he did this year was get thrown in the hot seat because every game we saw the same EXTREMELY predictable schemes and ZERO QB pressure.

So we'll have to see what happens next year but let's be honest another year of this and both CDC and Tormey will be gone. I'm not a fan of constant rebuilding but were never going to rebuild if we fire coaches every 3-5 years. This is Wyoming it's not Kansas, It's not Alabama and it not fucking Oregon.

Get it through your head people it's going to take a minimum of 5 years for any and I mean any coach to turn this team around and 7-8 is more like it because let's face it no 4-5 star recruits are coming to Laramie and we sure as shit aren't going to see a national power coach just decide he wants to come to Laramie either.

Fine no one likes Tormey hell I don't like him but gtfo the firing every coach bandwagon FFS can we at least get a chance to see the program built before you insist on destroying the foundation? I'm just as disappointed about this year as anyone else I'm just as frustrated that DC coasts in the 2nd and 3rd Q's which cost us a win 80% of the time but wtf is firing DC or tormey going to accomplish?

You could have said the exact thing about Arroyo, English, etc. Should they have been given 5+ years? Track records mean everything in this business...and Tormey's is pathetic. Why he was brought in as a DC is LAUGHABLE at the very surface. Should he be fired though? That is DC's decsion, and he very well may live or die by it.

Not sure there are many here that are really, honestly, calling for DC's head, except SDdouchefan and some other ballsack radio Nazi. DC deserves time, at least another full season if not 2. And if he gets it done with Tormey running the D like he does...I will be VERY surprised.

Should you be given 5 year to turn a program around in a part of the country no one wants to be, Yes but your accumulated years have to be an improvement and so far DC's isn't either. It's been 2 good seasons and 2 bad seasons. Tormey on the other hand 1 terrible season.

English? Really? - Marty English will enter his ninth season at the University of Wyoming in 2011. He is the senior member of the Cowboy coaching staff. For the third consecutive season, English will serve as the Cowboys' defensive coordinator. He will be coaching the UW linebackers for the ninth straight season. I think English was given plenty opportunity to turn the defense of the program around.
