Bitching

Yeah but it was surrounded by growing cities and it now is a part of Dallas. And since the town does not exist anymore we are the last of them. Still we were small town folk. My family was in that small town and another one next to it that in 2010 had about 415. Many people don't realize it though because it's surrounded by cities. See, some of my ancestors left reservation (and later allotment) lands around Durant, OK.

You're part Indian? Interesting. I help out at the Oklahoma History Center in the research library. They get research requests for 1896 applications or Dawes Rolls info.

I guess to keep the bitchin' goin'........

This ghost town in Oklahoma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boggy_Depot,_Oklahoma" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is where the White government men murdered one of my grandmothers through my dad's side of the family because she was "Indian". It fragmented my family even more as she was the matriarch at the time and the culture is matrilineal and she wasn't living white etc. Some left Oklahoma and some did not. Some signed the Dawes roll to be counted as Indian by the USA government and some did not. There was a lot of fear.
It is still a wrong in the USA that the government wants to identify someone as Indian if the person has an ancestor who signed the stupid roll etc.
There are so many problems.
Her murder has caused many problems for many of my family members today and in the future until certain things are changed.

And to Wyokie. Yes, I'm half indian. My dad is half Choctaw. My mom is half Muscogee Creek.

Interesting. I have a uncle-in-law who is a full-blood Chippewa. He lives in Cody, WY.

It's the plight of the Native Americans i.e., Indians that got me interested in history when I was real young. In fact, I have a B.A. in History at East Central University in Ada, OK. Proud of the degree.

Cool. I call them Ojibwe though. I love Anton Treuer. He and I say almost exactly the same things.
You should look at some of his videos, maybe just skip around. You can hear him speak Ojibwe.
He works at Bemidji State U.

I love him even though I've never met him.

I'm going to continue bitching about one of the schools I went to and its unusual number of jerk people. That school has 2 message boards. On the one that is most populated one of my threads was removed and it was a good thread about one of our American soldiers who was also an olympian. Those guys removed it.
Then I put it on the other message board (the board of the break away "bad" guys who wanted a board where they could have more freedom to do want they wanted).
Well, those jerks not only removed the thread but deleted my account.
They want wealthy people to give them millions of dollars for the sports programs and then you have jerks like that.
Now I am really very tempted to say nasty things on the conservative, most populated board and ....
They want to believe others are the square pegs when really it is they who are the

It's hard to know why a thread about a movie about one of our soldiers who went through hell for America would be deleted. He's still alive at about 97 years old.

Oh I could say much more to blow of the steam about them.

Kind of bitching, kind of not. Rolled my ankle twice in two days a little over a month ago, and ended up tearing a ligament. Took a few weeks to try physical therapy, but it didn't help (my ankle kind of just hangs), so I'm now scheduled for ankle surgery Monday.

I was playin intramural 4v4 flag football the other day and the astro turf tore up my knee. Now it hurts to straighten my leg and to bend it.

Feels like I'm back in Wyoming today. It's 34 degrees right now in OKC. Saw snowflakes (not the lady who posts on here) coming down as I as driving home. Northwest part of the state has bad travel due to the weather.

And yet two days ago it was 80s and 90s in this state.

Same kind of thing in good ol' Wyoming this weekend. 80 degrees on Saturday, 35 with 4 inches of snow on Sunday.

We had snow, rain, and wind for the Griz spring game in Missoula on Saturday.. Sunday was 55 and sunny.. I have no idea anymore.

Laramie was supposed to get 3-7 inches. Barely got an inch (that stuck that is), but going to get surger at 7am when it's 5 degrees outside is not the best of things. At least I didn't have to wait half the day before getting it done.

But most of that snow is now melted.

Ow. That's why I hate playing any sports on turf... you fall at all, it's going to start bleeding, and you'll have to pick out those rubber things out of the wound. On grass, you'll have a green knee/elbow/whatever, and maybe a scratch.

Our data center keeps trying to blow itself up.. which means late nights, overnights, and no sleep.

Where do you work at? I used to work at a call center for 18 months from March 2001 to August 2002. That job drove me insane....almost literally.

Poor boys. I've had my own ankle thang before.
And astroturf experiences too. That stuff is not like the soft fake turf they have nowadays. To me it was like that ugly outdoor patio carpet stuff on top of concrete!
I would prescribe y'all have nurses to help you with y'alls needs 'round the clock to help you....

I managed to pull my groin tonight while stretching to prevent a goal playing indoor soccer. I should probably learn that my body doesn't contort quite as much as it used to. Luckily it happened with maybe 5 minutes to go, so I played through it to the end.

Also played on a sprained(?) left foot that I managed to injure playing outdoors a week ago in the Boulder city league. It's not unstable or anything like a sprained ankle, it's just swollen and dark blue on the side. Doesn't hurt too bad to run on, at least.

My body's falling apart, and I'm not even halfway through my 30s. Maybe I should shelve the goal I have of playing ice hockey again. :P
