The single biggest reason I see for the Wyoming Men's basketball teams losses so far is 3 point shooting.
When Wyoming is at home they are very deadly from the arc. Go on the road though and it turns in to another story.
Here are the stats:
In the 6 home games Wyoming is shooting 45-94 from the 3 point line for 47.8% on the year.
In the 4 road games Wyoming is shooting 13-55 from the 3 point line for 23% on the year.
Take out the road game against South Dakota that Wyoming still was able to pull out and win and Wyoming's 3 point shooting in the 3 losses are 6-36 for a total of 16% on the year.
At Colorado Wyoming went 3-12 from behind the arc . If we hit just two more then we have a chance to pull out the win.
At Denver Wyoming was 1-10. Hit one or two more and Wyoming has a good chance to win.
At Ohio St. Wyoming went 2-14. Hit a couple more and Wyoming would have still been in the game somewhat. Probably still would not have won.
Wyoming is close to being 9-1 right now instead of 7-3 with a good ooc win over Colorado but didn't quite play out that way.
Wyoming is at home tonight and even though SMU is good , they aren't any tougher of a game than playing CU at CU or Ohio St. in Columbus. Coming off of a loss i expect Wyoming to bounce back and be ready to play and win this game at home and expect the 3 point shooting should be a lot better playing in the comfy confines of the AA.
