Big East Votes to expand to 10 football playing schools

This part really stands out too me and makes some people on here, and others on the MWC board, look overreactive.
UCF, East Carolina, Memphis and Temple have all been mentioned in reports as possibilities for joining the conference.

I saw that too.

If I was a betting man, Big East will add Villanova's football team since they are already in the league for other sports and UCF as a rival for South Florida.

I know. Except the Big East needs two football playing schools but can't add anyone else for all sports since the conference already has 16 schools!!!!

Only way they could add Houston and TCU would be to split the league into two seperate leagues a la the MWC/WAC mess.

Seems accurate to me. TCU to the Least would be great (for now, for them, for football) but I am not sure that is a move that the Frogs really want to make happen.

Fuck expansion by the way...isn't this football season? Leave that crap for May - July.

When will the Big East get to the point where they are diluted with weaker teams and lose their BCS seat? First of all, they have ZERO football teams ranked in the top 25. And, now they are talking about adding Nova, East Carolina, Memphis, etc. to the mix. Sure they are a great bball conference, but football runs the ship.

At some point their BCS slot needs to be pulled.

That's why some have thought that TCU and Houston would be the two to be joining the Big East.

If they were smart, the conference will invite them....

But, here's the problem....the Big East already has 16 schools. 2 more for all sports is going to be a major nightmare.

That's why I think they'll just add 'Nova and another school for football only. 'Nova has all of their other sports in the Big East now so adding them in football won't add another mouth for basketball.

Shoulda been yanked a long time ago. They're an embarrassment to college football.

Yeah but they have an ace in the hole going for them.

Where is ESPN located? I know the answer but I want everyone here to think.
