...and that is on top of receiving an offer from Oregon!

BTW, adding to that. If Bohl beats out Oregon for Tevis....I don't care if it's only because Tevis wants to stay home: you can already crown Bohl's ass in the recruiting department. Wyoming VERY rarely wins out with players ranked in the Top 100 at their position...and almost never do the Pokes beat out programs like Oregon. Still a long time until signing day...but this is very encouraging. Tevis is a 4-year starter at OLB if he jumps on the bandwagon.

An absolute serious recruit -- and a notch on Coach Bohl's belt if he closes this deal.

August 30 cannot get here soon enough...

So Barlett will be visiting Oregon after the Stanford camp. He said he's going to wait until after football season to commit anywhere.....but that weekend is when fans should be nervous. Oregon doesn't have a football facility....they have a football campus. It won't be the first time their assets overwhelm a recruit into committing. If he emerges from that visit still uncommitted, Wyoming is in the drivers seat to land him.

Ya to be honest he would have to have a huge Wyoming heart to not leave Oregon completely mind blown if you haven't seen their facility just have a look. What I took away from the post was " I'll play any position " with Smith we only got him because other schools wanted him to be a defensive player. With Bartlett he isn't against being a defensive player so I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him leave the state. Bohl has a tough road to land him the way I see it.

There's something to be said for being one of the top recruits in a program and getting a key role, vs being one face in the crowd... some people would rather go into a place where they know they'll have a bigger part of the success of a program.

That is what I was thinking as well...If he were to commit to Oregon, he is just another 3-star athlete in a class with a lot of 4- and 5-star players. If he commits to Wyo, he is a pretty big get for us. We would miss him a lot more than Oregon would.

I've tried looking at the various Oregon Ducks forums to see their opnion on Bartlett, but you either have to pay for it, or it's in that crappy 90s forum style that Ramnation has.

If Bohl can land Bartlett the sky is the limit for recruiting. I know he's an in-state player, but he can still say that he beat out Oregon and other PAC-12 schools for a player. I hope that Tevis is a big enough Wyoming fan that the allure of being a hometown hero is enough to overshadow the glitz of Nike U.

I haven't been a Wyoming fan for long, but I already love seeing this:

1. Wyoming
2. Colorado
3. Oregon
4. Utah
5. Colorado State

Same goes if you post negative stuff about BYWhoU!!!

That is true. EVERY recruit is different...none of these teenagers are the same. We don't know what his motivations are...but he'll go unrecognized at Oregon unless he becomes a star, and even then he's still just a star on a team loaded with them. At Wyoming? He's on the front page of everything Wyoming football from his sophomore year on.

Defense wins championships...if Bohl snags Bartlett, he has his key defensive player to build around for the future.

Of course expectations need to be tempered like Wyo2Dal said, but the fact that he lists Wyoming #1 right now is already an unexpected development.

Can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket.

Aren't we recruiting Bartlett as a QB?

Not sure. Most are recruiting him on defense, but I'm sure Bohl would take Tevis in any capacity. Hell, if he wants to kick the ball too let him have it.

He's not the best passer in the world, but he reminds me of Taysom Hill as a QB. Not a great passer, but that doesn't mean he can't be highly effective at QB.

From the article:

Both Wyoming and Colorado have said Bartlett would get a chance to play quarterback, the position where he threw for 1,521 yards and 13 touchdowns and ran for another 1,400 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2013 as a junior. Most other programs have Bartlett slated as a linebacker.

But though the position is a factor, Bartlett said it isn't a crucial one.

"To go to a school like Oregon or Utah and play linebacker, that’s definitely not out of the picture just because I’m not playing quarterback," Bartlett said. "But I really like playing quarterback. That’s what I’ve put a lot of time into the last 4-5 years. But if a school says, ‘Hey, we don’t want you to play quarterback. We want you to play something else,’ that’s not going to be a huge deciding point.”

Interesting that Wyoming and Colorado are 1 and 2 right now, being the only two who've offered a chance at quarterback.

The Oregon visit will be the key moment in his recruitment.
