Washington pleaded guilty to battery and criminal entry today in the Albany County Courts.

the ppl at gowyogo drive me nuts. The way they talk is like they think leonard hasnt done anything bad at all. Look I love leonard on the bball team but dont gimme the whole "everyone deserves a second chance" b.s.

He originally went to usc, got in trouble. now is at uw. uw is his second chance..
he was suspended by shyatt april 4th. then got in trouble for breaking and entering and battery on april 15th. (which he pled guilty to today) and now they all just "know" he was at a party and got in a fight.

That's b.s. he didn't break in and illegally enter if it was a party.

Sorry leonard, it was nice meeting ya (I really did meet leonard, and yeah he seemed like a nice dude) but it seems like you really have fucked up royally here. sorry man.

Guess we better hope billydee can replace him scoring wise and nance can replace him rebounding wise

Really? Are you sure of that. He entered a party to which he wasn't invited and subsequently hit someone. I have to say I don't think this is worth dismissing him from the team. We have not heard what provoked the punch, but I am sure Coach Shy has heard it. I will fully support keeping LW on the team as long as he gets his academics in order or whatever caused the original suspension.

I hate shit like this. Nobody knows what "really" happened if you weren't "there" to see it all go down for yourselves. I know for fact, that there are a few people directly / indirectly tied to a few athletes (both football and basketball) that have some axes to grind, and are big time attention whores. These dumbasses need to be taken out back and have their asses kicked by folks not tied to UW / UW athletics.

Further, as far as the law is concerned, if the police that were involved, asked either the tennant or owner of the property that was supossedly "entered" if he was invited in, and the reply was no...they HAVE to do something about it. Either trespassing or illegal entry / breaking & entering. And if by chance, the tennant or owner, became biligerant and told Washington to fuck off, get out, etc., with some choice name calling, and Washington gave said person a shove (or bitch slap)...out of anger for being embarrassed and treated so shitty, you would see the battery charge (but where is the assault charge?).

Not sure we will hear the real deal either way. So put some trust in Shyatt & staff...that they know what they are doing, and are not compromising their standards / rules / expectations of their athletes.

I trust the staff...but with the limited knowledge I have, I would vote no on him returning. BeaverPoke is right, Wyoming was his second chance.

Another thing, some people are ripping ben durbin for leaving uw and not loving uw like we all do, but if you look at leonards twitter, you can see a few weeks back he post something about missing those usc trojan days. why isn't everyone already rippin apart leonard washington calling him unfaithful and unloyal and all that bs?

could it be because when we get a great player like leonard and he fucks up we want to take the SEC route of things and just pretend it never happened?

But when we are a losing shitty program we say things like "At least we still have values/morales" and "we don't put up with this shit here"

Different scenarios, completely. And we don't even know what "really" happened in Washington's situation.

Durbin: Fuck you I quit, I want out, grant me my release now and I will stay positive in the press.
Washington: I miss the big city life, I punched a drunk frat boy at a party.

Bull shit man. Durbin GRADUATED from Wyoming. If you went to Chadron state, red shirted, but ended up graduating and having 1 year left of eligibility and wyoming offered would you stay loyal to chadro? or follow your fuckin dreams of being a cowboy? I bet you really would accept the wyoming offer.

And btw HUGE over generalization. "Fuck you I quit" ?? okay thats not at all what happened.

And another huge overgenerilization. It wasn't I miss the city life and punched a frat dude. Hell even leonard himself says he's more of a small town dude, and it wasn't just "punching a frat dude" he breaking and entering and battery...... okay. no you're right.

Durbin quit the team, otherwise he would still be on the team. No getting around that. And breaking and entering could be a number of things. For example, maybe Leonard went to a party, got called something, hit the guy who called him something, and then gets accused of breaking and entering because the guy he punched happened to live at the house. Not saying this is what happened, but it very well could have gone down this way.

Bottom line is everyone has their own opinion on things.....that why there is so much back and forth on message boards, etc.

I'd like to see Leonard reinstated. And, I would have like Durbin to finish his senior season at Wyoming....where he was named starting DE after spring drills.

Maybe if the NCAA clears up that lame ass loophole, we aren't having this conversation. He has no loyalty to the UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING where he earned (and was given the chance to earn) his degree. Fuck Iowa State, were they there 4 years ago, offering a full ride to Durbin? NO. Honor your fucking committments kids...sometimes your integrity is all you have to fall back on.

And by the way, it pretty much was a fuck you I quit scenario. Fact. You do know the kid was waiting for his "release" since basically spring football ended don't you!?!?!?

Of course Washington is going to say that...he is in Laramie. It would be STUPID (as it was) to say otherwise.

So all the random bs that know one knows shit about aside who do you think will fill Washingtons shoes?

If Washington doesn't return, I don't think it's that big of a deal. He was nearly invisible in a lot games last year. He was awful at csewe and didn't he get benched in the home loss to air force? He has some issues that I'd rather not have on a UW team. He is talented, but inconsistent and unreliable.

He's a rebounder and does well down low. But the whole team was pretty inconsistent last year, not just Washington.

He had 32 and 14 in the first meeting with CSU and took that game over... but the second game he was in early foul trouble and didn't get many minutes contributing only 7 pts. We also have to remember that last year was his first year playing since 2009, his frosh yr at USC. We are a better team with him on the court.

You are SPOT ON, BeaverPoke, SPOT ON! Ben Durbin is a class act who worked hard, played hard, and represented UW well for four years. Now he has graduated and has been given an opportunity to play for the team he grew up loving and peaches, the guy who professes to bleed Brown & Gold, to live by the highest standards and be VERY disappointed in those who don't, trashes him and is Mr. OPEN MINDED with Leonard who plead guilty to breaking in and assault! Hey, there has to be bigger hypocrites and phonies out there. There has to be! Unreal. Good posts BeaverPoke. I'm a Larry Shyatt fan but this decision will be telling.
