Austin Peay

Beat AFA by 20 in the Springs. If Wyoming misses layups and FT again I assume a L. They scored 30 points in the paint and shot nearly 50% from the field. Surprising that AFA actually won the rebounding battle in that one.

Air Force is a very bad basketball team. They have had 20+ turnovers in each of their first two games.

This will be our toughest test yet, but it shouldn't be acceptable to lose to teams like Austin Peay at home. They have a good player in McCubbin, but they would be a bottom half MWC team if they were in our league.

Whatever NIL/transfer issues we are facing at UW, surely Austin Peay is in the exact same boat. We need to start beating teams like this - there are no legitimate excuses to lose games like this in my opinion.

Easily the best thing about Austin Peay was during the early 1970's one of the best players in the country suited up for the Governors -- "Fly" Williams. Fly was a legend on the New York playgrounds and was one of the top players in the country at Austin Peay and led them to a couple of NCAA tournament appearances. The fans invented the chant "Open the Fly and Lets Go Peay!". One of the best cheers in the history of college basketball. They still chant "Lets Go Peay" to this day. Just not with "Open the Fly" to start with.

The TV stream was dark but the announcers were available. Not very good to listen to.

Changed to Jeith and Kevin and enjoyed listening to the game.

I’m liking these Pokes tenacity.

Good win. We looked much better in the second half. I think the fast pace of play and altitude really worked to our advantage in this game.

First time I've watched this team. Rojas shot great but he was really the only one. It looks like we still don't have a true point guard who can take care of the ball and is a threat to score. We will struggle in the paint against bigger and stronger teams. I do think that the way this team is configured, a fast pace is going to give us our best chance. The big freshman kid looks quite promising - very athletic and good touch. If nothing else, this team looks quite a bit deeper than last year.
