If SMU got the 'death penalty' for their infractions, I would imagine that Auburn (and the SEC to a lesser extent) are going to go through nothing less than 'genocide' over this stuff.

I have a feeling this is going to go further than that Wyokie. I'm thinking the FBI investigation will uncover things that will shake up the entire college athletics. By that I mean new conference affiliations and structures. For starters, this should eliminate Auburn from the NC game and open the door for either BSU or TCU. Auburn would have to forfeit it's wins wouldn't it?

You're probably right but seeing how major schools like OU and Notre Dame only getting a small slap on the hand has made me a bit of a pessimist towards the NCAA.

A side question: should both Boise and TCU end up in the MNC and TCU stays in the MWC (gawd, I hope) would that be enough to get the MWC AQ status in the BCS?

As much as I feel that'll happen, it won't. These investigations take YEARS to conduct. How many years did it take before Reggie lost his Heisman? They started the investigations the year after, didn't they?
