Come join the Washington, DC "chapter" of the UW Alumni Association at the Crystal City Sports Pub in Arlington, VA to watch our beloved Pokes take on the Longhorns of Texas.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. EDT. this Saturday, September 12, 2009. Come early and enjoy the great food at the Crystal City Sports Pub (CCSP), rated one of America's top 20 sports bars by Sports Illustrated!

That's awesome you've locked up a spot to watch the game in your neck of the woods. Wish ALL the UW fans could make it out to this game (and every other game, for that matter), but it's nice to see that there are factions of us all over the country. GO POKES!!!
 
I emailed the AD about there being a Missoula chapter.. apparently I'm the only one. :( Glad to see you got something for DC arranged. How many UW alums are out there?

Officially, the UW Alumni Association does not have "chapters", in an organized sense. Since I'm a former member of the UWAA Board of Directors and I've been organizing these watch parties for over six years now, I consider our watch parties "chapter" meetings. As for UW alumni in the DC area, the UWAA has a mailing list of over 200 alumni in the immediate DC Metro area. We have alumnus with graduation dates going back to 1938! Generally, the past couple of years, around 20-30 have been showing up to watch the games, as painful as it's been. We also organized a caravan to travel to Charlottesville a couple of seasons ago to see Wyoming take on Virginia. The owners at the Crystal City Sports Pub have treated our group well, always making sure we have a place to see the game. What more can you ask for?
