You know, though, part of me is sad over this. UNLV has been the crown jewel for MWC bball, at least in name, history, facilities, etc. Certainly there are other strong programs like UNM and SDSU, but UNLV is, well, UNLV.

To me, this symbolizes or maybe enforces the steep decline we see the MWC in right now. The MWC has had some decent years in football before realignment, but has traditionally been a strong bball conference.

We are on the skids in both sports and I hope we can turn it around. Sort of scary to see how badly wounded one of titans has become. Talk about incompetent leadership, wow, from their BOT to their president and AD. Apparently word is out about their leadership because Vegas shouldn't have this difficult of a time landing a quality coach.

I think it is nothing more than a bad hire and somebody else bringing more money to the table. They still bring in top level recruits....so until that goes away, I think it is a bump in the road for them.
 
Apparently some reports the Heath Schroyer is being considered. WTF is going on in Vegas.

Think they need to hire George Karl and be done with it. It is potential to be a better hire than they originally had.

From Rice to Schroyer????? Why not just dump gasoline on the Thomas & Mack then shoot it with a couple hundred flaming arrows. Those poor, poor UNLV fans. If they hire Heath they are officially right up there as numero uno rivals in my book. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE it if Edwards & company brought the pain to em routinely!!! :dead: :deadhorse1: :dead: :deadhorse1: :deadhorse1:
 
As much as we'd love to see Heath as their coach. It's not going to happen..... I think.
