I honestly thought the O was going to gel a little more as the year went along. I was wrong.

I think overstreet is or best option at RB. Or maybe the o-line is just rush blocking that poorly

I totally agree with overstreet. I don't understand why he doesn't play. Strange

I have a hard time having faith in coaches who punt on 4th and 3 when you are down 10 with 7:20 left in the game. Play to win.

Fucking pathetic performance tonight. I feel sorry for all of the fans, including me who showed up in Boise for a half assed, “trying not to lose too bad” type of effort. We are sub-par and should consider moving to a lower division. Waste of time and effort.

I am going to pay you a compliment by being blunt and direct.

Go f--k yourself with that kind of talk.

I know people want to challenge for the conference title every year like Boise, but at this point in the program's development it's probably not realistic.

Look, I know people get sick of hearing this and say it's just an excuse, but this is a very young team. Just nine seniors on the entire roster (and just six in the two-deep). Lots of youth in the OL and at the skill positions. For a team like Wyoming that usually doesn't have NFL defections on a yearly basis, that's a lot of youth on the team. I know everyone would like Josh Allen to sprinkle some NFL fairy dust on the roster and bring everyone else up to an NFL level, but that's probably not realistic.

I think most of us probably underestimated the impact the losses of Hill, Gentry, Maulhardt, Hollister and Roullier would have on the offense. I know I did!

We have five games left to get two wins. Say what you want about lowering expectations, but getting back-to-back bowl eligibility should be the goal. This program hasn't had consecutive 6-win seasons since the late 90s.

I don't think that's much of a goal with how bad the Mountain West has been recently as well as Josh returning for his Junior year. There are some glaring holes on the offensive side of the roster that shouldn't exist at this stage of the program. True freshman shouldn't be playing unless they're just that good. They clearly aren't this year. Wyoming would be competing for a conference championship if this team had a halfway decent offensive line to go with the defense. Maybe these kids playing too soon will pay off in the long run, but it's killing the team this year.

We played boise closer then nearly every team they have played in conference.

I missed half the game due to my Houston Astros playing game 7 of the alcs and advancing to the World Series.

Any noteworthy injuries in the first half? The only injury I saw was Cain on the defensive line but I did not hear gafan mentioned in the second half which I thought was odd and wondered if he was injured.

The biggest difference in this game was the pokes were not able to get the crucial turnovers that they have been so adept to getting.

Overall we played a good game against the best team in the conference on the blue turf (now I seemed to remember that boise was not allowed to wear all blue on the blue turf in conference games so not sure why they were able to last night) but we are competitive with the best our conference has to dish out.

I do agree with this sentiment. The pokes have a chance to be in the post season for two consecutive years which they have not done before and that is a solid goal for a building program.

Our offense was going to take a big step back in talent with what was lost and as these offensive players will all improve in coming seasons.

Because in a 4 point game if you want to win, you need to try to score when you have the opportunity, and sitting on that side of the field with Boise getting the ball to start the half, we need all the points we can get. I type this as Boise is about to score on their opening drive to put us behind

So I don't want us to win because I don't want to risk our best player getting hurt?

Seriously: how much worse could the offense be with Nick playing? Not much.

Josh could sure use some help.

Josh missed a lot of receivers tonight

Don't disagree, but I would say anyone would start forcing things/ be less accurate when you have no protection, no running game, and few recievers. He needs some help.

People need to stop thinking Josh can do no wrong. If he's a first round pick he should be MUCH better. He's been trash.

I never said he could do no wrong - I said he needed some help on offense.

He definitely needs help with a runner who can get positive yards most of the time. Second half last night it was 100% his fault that his throws hit the feet of the receivers on 4 (or more?) throws in a row, though, killing two essential drives. The guys were open - they just had no opportunity to help him out.

Agreed, and if I recall he was not being hit or sacked on any of those bad throws in the 4th so no one can blame those on the offensive line. Allen had a bad 4th quarter when we needed him the most considering the defense had fallen apart by that point.

He was pressured on one of the third down ones, I think, but not enough to even get hit after he let go of the ball.

As for the defense, apparently by end of third quarter, our remaining defensive tackles were true freshmen, which might explain why they were getting pushed around and looking exhausted. I think we have a lot of talent and a solid defense - just no depth to deal with injuries.

Yeah, CJ's thing just before the game jinx bit us again.
Kidding.

The severe lack of a run game finally bit us in conference. Something I noticed, looking more closely in this game then previous ones, is that last year with Hill and even Wick, when the blockers and defenders all went one way, those two would cut back and find some pretty good holes.

This year, other then the 5 yarder with Woods, they don't. They just run straight into a mess of players from both sides. Not to mention, rather then look for a hole, they tend to just keep running straight, and without hitting the hole hard.

Not only game over, but BS will probably make the spread.
Thank you Allen. Anybody that doesn't blame him must be a relative. NO accuracy in the pass game.
THIS IS AN OUTRAGEOUS POST!!!

I DID NOT say this in my original post! It said VIGEN, where you changed it to ALLEN. And the last sentence in my post was: "NO variety in offense", not what you changed it to.

wyokoke, you could have at least stated that you changed my post. You owe me and the forum an apology.

And to the moderator: What can you do to stop this nonsense?
