Chad's Tuesday blog is up!

Boise fan here, you guys actually worry me about as much as an option team worries me. I'm worried about you guys playing ground and pound on us all day and shortening the game. I also worry about our offense turning the ball over which we have been very prone to do this season. Again Boise fan and i'm VERY worried about this game. I have a lot of respect for what Bohl is building over there in Laramie, i'm going to say 28-24 we squeak it out.

31-28 Pokes win it at the end and Laramie goes nutz, BH goes for 150 yards 2 tds and overall a wonderful evening in Lartown!!!!

I love how some of these Boise fans tweeting about this game use series history to give Wyoming little shot Saturday. The more level-headed ones are a little worried, though. Bohl is slowly bringing respect back to this program.

The students need to bring intense, non-stop energy Saturday. Give the Pokes that extra push.

When you win some games, you generally attract the a******s to your fanbase. They were quite and non existent last season but are slowing coming out of the bushes now that we are ranked again. Most of us are rational fans, I grew up in the Houston Nutt Dirk Koetter days back before the run when we were still transitioning from FCS. Its amazing how far we've come but we have some HORRIBLE fans that we've attracted the last 10 years i'll admit that.

Well, FWIW, we have some horrible "fans," and we have been shitty for 20 years.

The boise fans I have met over the years haven't left me with a great impression. Borderline BYU condescending-esque. If I were betting my house on this game, of course I still give BSU the nod, but there is a sliver of hope this year at least.

Although I am excited about this Pokes team, I saw us shredded on defense by a mediocre UNR team with a backup QB. I don't see how we slow BSU offense down.

There are a few in every crowd

I'm not betting on this game. Weather.com says wind will be 20-30 mph. 20 mph is the sort of the magic number to affect the passing game. Payton Manning had a rating of 68 when winds were over 20 and game point totals in NFL drop quite a bit with winds over 20.

Velocity can overcome some wind affects. I think Rypien is a dang good QB but I would rate him more of a touch passer than high velocity cannon arm. Thus, if winds are 20+ mph, the huge BSU advantage in the passing game could be impacted or even neutralized. From a gambling perspective, I wouldn't touch this game.

Man, I hope WYO can pull it off!

Regardless how the game shakes out this year.....and IMO the Pokes have a decent shot in front of the home crowd. But, the best is yet to come. This team is still very young and is still building depth.

Regading Nevada....stuff like that happens. It wasn't like he was a bad QB. He made good throws and is quick. Plus, it was their homecoming. Sometimes home teams play well. But, we maintained a two TD lead most of the night. The late TD and onside kick made it interesting, but we did control the game.

we hafta win the 1st one in the series sometime, why not Saturday???

Agreed. From what I can pick up off of the BSU forums, there is an even distribution of cocky fans who think they will steam roll us and level headed fans who think it will be a dog fight. The level headed fans are worried about this:
- Brian Hill
- The elevation/wind
- An amped up team/fan base
- RB #5
- our yuuuge offensive line
- Hill, Brian

A few BSU fans also admit that we generate turnovers well and that has been their achilles heel. I agree with most of their level-headed fans. Brian Hill and our running game is our only hope. (I like those odds)

All 6 of those are completely true, also i'm worried about Sperbeck being healthy. He was nicked up pretty bad last game.

Unfortunately there are a few cocky ones, however I think quite a few of us are rational. We are not overlooking you guys i can tell you that, we are very light up front on the defensive side thats what worries me.

Wyoming's been very good at forcing turnovers, so if Boise can't improve their ball control, there's definitely a chance Wyoming gets their first win over a ranked team in way too long.

On the other hand, if Wyoming doesn't generate any pressure on the Boise QB and Boise manages to shut down Wyoming's running game, this game could easily end up 45-14 in favor of Boise.

It's sort of comforting to know we are starting to raise the bar, in Laramie. Not talking about the Buck either.
Rational dialogue by the 208 gent gives me the sense that things are heading in the right direction. Ball control, HIll and Wick. I think we'll have some wrinkles on the O set as well. Every week Vigen dials up something very distinct to get us an edge. Special teams have to perform. Rothe must kick the ball well, Wood needs to neutralize like he did with AFA and CSU. We are so due for a return as well, penalties to a minimum and last of all turnovers. We do those things well, and advantage Pokes in this one. Maybe not a perfect game, but damn near perfect and we tilt the scale to Wyo. We are more than due boys and girls.

I wanna see us on top for a change, a feel good story for us, to kinda bring back the feel at the War that hasn't been there in quite sometime, NOT, oh well we played them well and gave it a run. NO....Let's kick the crap outta these overrated Broncos, come on Pokes get er done!!!

Hopefully Rypien's arm falls out of its socket after throwing for 400 yards, 2 touchdown, and 2 pick-sixes in the first half.

14-14, tied at the half, then Wyoming scores on a 30 minute, 80 yard touchdown drive to open the second half.

If Sperbeck and Wilson aren't 100% you guys will have a great shot. I'm cheering for you guys the rest of the way, just not against us haha.
