Anyone remember Dee Dowis at AFA?

He sadly passed away after a car wreck.

His fumble in the 1988 classic (WYO 48, AFA 45) allowed Wyoming to beat them in the last seconds of the game. That game and the one @ Hawaii were the only two WAC games Wyoming coulda lost that year but didn't.

I read that yesterday. He was a hell of a competitor. He took a beating on the field, and kept on delivering. Sad to see such a tragedy regardless of who it is, let alone somebody some of us are familiar with and watched for 3 or 4 years on the football field.

sad, that was my 1st game away from UW and my 2nd true college football game in 1988, my 1st semester at UW. When we came back from being down 31-17 and won 48-45, most fun at an away game ever. Sad to hear of Mr. Dowis's passing

Sad that he passed.

Best Option QB AFA ever had and one of the best college option QB's ever. Had fun watching him.

That 1988 game was a blast. Like said above that away game was one of the best ever to have been at. Always have rooted for AFA against most teams except for when they play Wyoming of course but they are my 2nd favorite MWC team and was a pleasure to watch Dee Dowis play.
