Anyone know how to find the thread...

Regarding the UW president search, where Tracy Ringolsby declared that the Sternberg search was kept completely out of the press (the candidates)?

I read an article within the last week out of Cheyenne that stated when the last president search was going on, that the media was pressing UW for a list of candidates. UW didn't oblige and it went to court. Judge Donnell (sp) in Laramie ruled that UW must release the names of the candidates, and the top 4 dropped out immediately.

I know it is kind of a dead issue, but holy shit is Wyoming corrupt on certain levels or what?!?! How the hell are we ever going to get away from the good 'ol boy shit?

This is a big, big, problem & one that is holding UW back - not only in athletics.
I'll look & see if I can find it.

It's a pretty common debate with searches like this. A lot of good candidates, with high-profile jobs, just won't participate in a process where their name is bandied about in public throughout the search. On the other hand, there are good candidates holding jobs where that is not an issue, who would be, for the large part, fine with that.

This public v. private search issue is not in the least unique to Wyoming.
