Anyone Have Hawaii Info / Tips?

Thinking seriously about making the trip...there are some decent deals out there if you buy now.

Assume that Waikiki / Honolulu is the place to see - in proximity to the stadium?

Can't say much about the stadium when I was in Hawaii (never had the chance to go there), but check out the International Market (make sure you don't get lost, the places is huge and like a maze), Waikiki Beach (sun, surf, and babes from the US and Japan), experience a luau (some of the best food I have had), maybe the Polynesian cultural center (get a few souveniers there), and of course check out Pearl Harbor (there are tour buses that go there from Honolulu).

I agree with Ol Wyo, Pearl Harbor is a must. There is a very nice breakfast buffet at Duke's Waikiki located in the Outrigger Waikiki hotel. They actually include bacon which at most other places is an expensive add-on. If you are a hiker, head up to Manoa Valley just a few miles north of downtown, there is a trail head there that leads to some nice scenery and a few waterfalls.

IMO, the island of Oahu's best attractions (besides Pearl Harbor) are outside of Honolulu. Head up the Veterans Highway thru the middle of the island to North Shore. Stop at the Dole Plantation on the way, try out the pineapple maze and have some pineapple ice cream. Stop and do some sunbathing/rock jumping/body surfing at Waimea Bay just a few miles northeast of Waialua. Stop in Wailalua and hit up Storto's for a delicious sub sandwich, a bit pricey but very worth it. On your way out of town, grab a shaved ice (with ice cream in the bottom) at Aoki's Shaved Ice. Head back to Honolulu the long way, around the island, on your way you can see the Banzai Pipeline and its impressive waves (won't be huge in October, but still not terrible). The rest of your drive around the island on the Kamehameha Highway skirts the ocean the entire way. You can turn at Kanehoe and head over the mountain to Honolulu or continue around the eastern edge of the island where you can see the island of Molokai in the distance.

Obviously there's a LOT more to do in Hawaii than all that, but just some highlights from my times there.

Funny, Spokane has an Allegiant flight directly to HOnolulu.. last time I looked it was around $1200 or so..

US Airways has a flight from Denver to Honolulu on Friday 10/10/14 at 12:15 PM and returning on Tuesday 10/14/14 at 5:48 PM for $678 round trip. Looks like there's a layover in LA, but that's unbelievably cheap for a Hawaii flight. Anyone looking for tickets check out cheapair.com.

Good stuff - thank you all.

I found 7 nights & air for $2400.00 total for 2, and if we decide to take kids - they are no additional cost.

Anyone know the proximity to the stadium from Waikiki Beach area?

My Wife and I will be attending the game as well. We chose this trip for our honeymoon and have been anxiously awaiting the schedule to be released. Neither of us have been to Hawaii and definitely looking forward to it.

Where did you find that deal? I'm looking for something that includes lodging and air. Our plan is to fly into Honolulu Friday before the game, stay the night and spend the rest of our vacation on Maui or Lani.

I use bookit.com quite a bit. If you do a search (I selected flying out of Denver) - and use Wednesday October 8th going out, and Wednesday October 15th coming back - you will see a ton of options...a bunch in that price range. Trip includes all airfare, hotel, and fee bullshit.

OH, and congrats!

Thanks. It was back in July, so we just decided to hold off on the honeymoon until the schedule was released. Hawaii plus a Cowboys game? It doesn't get much better haha

Can anyone guess where we got married?
