Anyone going to the Scrum?

Irish, just a question about what you saw compared to my view. Did you think Smith was quicker than ACS to find the open receivers, or was it just timing and accurate throws. I thought he was quicker and that helped the OL considerably in not having to hold their blocks.

WY, IMO, I think Smith has a much quicker release than ACS, and can deliver the ball accurately and quickly. Part of it is the nature of the offense as most of the throws are quick, high percentage throws. I really like the fact that Smith, according to Gagliardi's blog finished the Spring completing 73% of his passes. That tells me the guy knows when what and where to go with the ball because 73 percent is a crazy comp pct. That is also a reason I am so pumped about this offense and Brandon. Most, if not all of the defenses we will see will be licking their chops when they see a freshman QB back there. Their plan will be to blitz the shizit out of us. Our offense, at least, from what I have seen of it is designed to take advantage of a blitzing defense and expose it. If the young QB makes good decisions with the ball and can recognize where it's coming from and deliver it quickly and accurately to a guy like Herron or McNeil in space, or up to Ogbonna outside and let him go up and get it, BIG PLAYS. Sting the blitz and slow'em down and pop AA, Ghali, Kanko, Miller, Sutton inside when they ain't blitzin for big room inside. Easy game!
