Any rosy predictions for the Men's B-Ballers?

DU is a decent team and we always struggle on their home floor. Sorry, but you are wrong! This team is playing hard and with a lot of energy. Yea, we don't have enough shooters, or really any pure shooters for that matter...but this team will win some games and especially when we tire out teams at home!

We have lost at Denver 4 times in a row, this wasn't a shocker. I get annoyed when people call for heads after losses and don't say a word after wins.

If you want to fire a coach for not winning MWC championships every year, then go ahead. We'll be owing alot of people alot of money, I hope you're donating in order to pay the debt.

Losses to SoDakState and Denver make one feel a bit pessimistic. See ya Heath.

Heath isn't going anywhere. For a variety of reasons, but mostly it is very early in the season. I remember some decent Wyoming teams with some bad early season losses (including some to DU).

Long term, Heath is tied to Burman. There is no way that Heath will be fired (I am not saying he should be either, just pointing out the connection).

I really like the kids on this team and I really hope they figure it out and have a great season and great careers. That first half at DU was a very entertaining half of basketball (despite the FT bonanza). I love that Heath has built a roster that is deep and athletic and is committed to playing full court pressure defense. I have been craving that type of team in Laramie for a long time.

On the flip side, why can't we execute crisply on the offensive end? There are some personnel limitations that make us struggle in the half court (aside from Afam, we have nobody that can shoot the three, so teams can sag in a zone, and when Bouba is in the game we are playing 4 on 5 on offense), but our struggles are extreme. We have very talented guys (Afam has really improved from last year and he was pretty damn good last year) and there is no excuse for our struggles in the half court.

There are so many things that get you excited about this team. I am very dissapointed in the results so far this year, but I would like nothing more than to see these players have success at UW.

Everybody needs to calm down. This team has one senior and two juniors, and I would only call one of those three players (Thiam) a significant contributor - Dermody's a role player and Watsabaugh's a 12th man. Every other player is a freshman or a sophomore. With a team that young, I'll expect them to struggle against disciplined, well-coached teams. All I'm expecting out of them this season is improvement over the course of the season. Expectations will ratchet up as this nucleus gets older - in two years, I will expect an NCAA bid (probably a single-digit seed, even) but I also think that this crew will have learned how to take care of business against the South Dakota State's and DU's of the world.

Heath is doing a nice job of recruiting, but to be honest his coaching leaves something to be desired. That being said we all know that if Heath doesnt get the team in the top three in the conference within the next couple years he'll probably be gone. So far no one should be sold on him yet, cause the truth is he really hasn't accomplished much on the court.

Like I said, if we aren't in the NCAA between now and April, 2012, his job will probably be on the line. I'll cut him some slack this season with such a young team, especially when he's done so much to fix the academic problems. I haven't been able to watch any games yet so I can't speak to his in-game coaching but I think it's much too early to be eying the panic button.

OK, now add losing to Monmouth at home.

Poke Fans, it's a sad testament to how low our expectations have become that there isn't a collection jar at every Walmart, Kmart and Safeway in the state that says "Buy out Schroyer's contract - Every Cent Helps!"

These are not MWC-caliber programs we've lost to this season. It's going to be a long haul in the conference.

And Heath's been here long enough that he shouldn't have a team with only two upper classmen. And he shouldn't have been granted a pass when the presumably more experienced, senior-laden team from the prior season only got into a fake post-season tourney.

That excuse doesn't really wash in the way you phrased it.

This team is anything but young..They may be inexperienced but they are not young..Non of the freshman o sophmores are true freshman and sophmores in that they are not 18 and 19 year olds..These are BYU aged players who didn't go on missions.

I just wanted to resurrect this old topic for nostalgia.

Let's all remember it next year, when the same thing happens. I don't ever want to hear the type of rationalizing over poor performance we heard from some here.

Nothing personal, by the way. I used to be the person who posted the same about football. But this athletic department's history since 1998 tells us we need to be hard on our coaches and hard on our AD's early and often.

I honestly see the same if not worse record as this year. And more than one player leaving the team
