True, we need to give Bohl the benefit of the doubt. However, as you state, ethics issues will be exposed through a series of events. Maybe this is the first of the series of events. If the player said nothing, then the first time we'd hear anything unethical is when something else came up. I hate that this player was or thinks he was treated like this. Let's see how Bohl and staff conduct themselves going forward and let time judge them. While we may all cheer the Brown & Gold, I feel we should be proud of, or at least not be embarrassed by the face of the program. I always felt a little dirty with DC leading the team, I hope I don't end up feeling the same towards Bohl.Wyovanian said:Having been in management (both mid-level and executive) for nearly twenty years, I've learned quite a bit about personal accounts of events- how they can be skewed by emotion and things being taken personally when they should be taken professionally. There is almost always an element of truth to accounts from all sides. When someone admits such a thing happened, I'd take that as truth, but I don't think the real motives behind that action are being framed accurately. Bohl is an executive, and that means tough choices have to be made. Very few executives want to make their jobs harder than they already are. Keeping ethos and pathos with the team you have to build and lead is crucial to the execution of the position. This is why we should all consider this account with a highly discerning eye and ear.ItSucksToBeACSURam said:I too agree he should have been allowed at his senior night activities. I would agree with this 100%.
Recognition of a guy's efforts for 4-5 years has nothing to do with being "bigger than the program".
Whoever this player is (once a Cowboy, always a Cowboy, to borrow a phrase from Brandon Ewing), he deserves our thanks and admiration for his contributions as a player and teammate. However, it would be hasty and the acme of foolishness to accept his account completely on face value. I'm certain that his account of being more or less shunned from the team is likely true, but the veracity of the motives he assigns is dubious at best, given how little detail there really is, vis a vis, the coaching staff and Bohl's office.
In short, I'm far more inclined to trust the judgement of a seasoned executive like Bohl, than I am the judgement of someone with highly limited life experience that also has a deeply emotional connection to the events transpired.
If there's an ethics issue in the Wyoming Football Head Coach's office, it will eventually be exposed through a series of events and accounts from points-of-view far more diverse than the account of one, or even a few disappointed players. Until such things happen the default setting must be one of trust in the judgement of the executive charged with the task of running the enterprise. To do otherwise is simply undermining the foundation required for success, whether in College Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, running a department, etc.
In any undertaking, there will always be those involved who end up disappointed at the personal effect of any results. This is why no one is bigger than the totality of the endeavor.

What else can someone say, when they are unwilling to say that they spread rumors that had no truth in them! The case in-point is that you got caught, period! TSpoke said:After reading up on everything and doing a bit of reading between the lines it looks like Bohl didn't like Will having a job in addition to playing football. As a walk-on he needed a job. Will wanted to get a scholarship so he wouldn't have to work. When they didn't offer him one it sounded like he was still willing to stay as a walk-on and continue working but Bohl didn't want someone with a job on the team because it cuts on the time to focus on football so he kicked him off the team. I don't have an opinion on if Will should have been given a scholarship or not but thought in 2014 he played really well and thought he could have deserved one after last season. This year he didn't do much but sounds like he had some injury issues.
Its also up to Bohl if he wants players on the team to have jobs or not but if they are walk-ons what else are they supposed to do. Thats the concerning part for me. With all the talk about building a strong walk-on program and getting local kids to walk-on and focus locally and build up the walk-on program like Nebraska, not allowing a local kid to walk-on(especially one who as contributed to the team), along with all the other walk-ons that left during the season raises some red flags for me.

We like to think that he earned this offer because of his relentless work ethic and willingness to do anything for the football team. It is also feasible to think that the coaches believed that he may contribute on the field at some point. However in the Mich St game last year he sustained what turned out to be a career ending injury. He too was asked not to go to the team meetings any longer, or attend the weight lifting sessions, or go to practice. Now if I were to leave it there it would seem to support some of the claims on this thread. But, what many people don't realize is that when an athlete is medically disqualified, as my son was, the scholarship is no longer policed by the football team. He becomes a ward of the school, so to speak. Therefore his involvement in the earlier mentioned activities would be viewed as an NCAA violation.
Now let me tell you how he was treated by the staff after he was injured.... They continued to support him even though he was no longer contributing to the team. They continued to provide medical treatment and support for his injury. He still receives medical attention through the training room for his injury. Two of his coaches, including Bohl, wrote letters of recommendation so that he could apply to grad school as well.
I am no there to pass judgement on anyone but please understand that at this level it is truly "the next man up" mentality and it has nothing to do with the kid or the injury. It is simply a business in which they, the coaches, must perform. their jobs depend on it.

There are too many people like you, who get caught lying then try to act like it doesn't mean anything to them that they got caught. I have no doubt that getting caught lying means nothing to you, because it is evident that it isn't the first time and won't be the last and something like the truth is something is something that you try to spin to others, and that not having a conscience is something that you have learned to live to with for a long time. Unfortunately for you, there are others on here that have seen you lie and twist things to make your own reality so you can grind personal axes. In the end it will come back to bite you.
