I’ll start.

AFA 5-1 (3-1)

Only loss was in game 2 hosting NDSU 32-38
#1 in total offense 408.0 YPG
#3 in total defense 295.7 YPG
#2 in scoring offense 30.8 ppg

Wyoming 4-3 (3-1)

#8 in total offense 331.6 YPG
#5 in total defense 366.4 YPG
#7 in scoring offense 18.3

I predict that AFA will come into the game with a defensive game plan to keep a spy or two on Hughes and a variety of blitz packages designed to stuff the run and force Hughes to make quick accurate passes. The offense for AFA will be exactly what it always is with a few twists put in to force the Wyoming DC to not be certain exactly how to line up.

Wyoming will have to play nearly perfect assignment football on defense and find ways to exploit the AFA secondary to counter blitzes.

The weather may favor rushing over passing if showers and the wind hang around until the evening. The forecast calls for that earlier in the day but it’s another 4 days to game day and a few hours can make a difference. It will be chilly but not bad for a late October night game in Laramie if the elements are as forecasted.

While I would like to think the Wyoming program is coming together and is on a solid track I am not convinced our point scoring will keep up with the AFA attack. It could come down to turnovers being the big margin factor in the final score. The stats favor AFA in the TO category..

I predict Wyoming keeps AFA below average but struggles with scoring points. AFA 24-13.

I truly hope I am wrong due to my Sawfully tainted perspective because a victory to get to 5-3 (4-1) will help extinguish the flames of skepticism and induce a renewed excitement that once what was called Cowboy Fever!

Solid analysis. I agree with everything you wrote. Wyoming’s special teams (especially kickers) have been good this season. I would give Wyoming a slight edge in special teams.

Hi all Air Force fan here. Hoping for a good game with no injuries. Some thoughts on Air Force Football traveling up to Laramie to play y'all. This is always a tough venue for us to play in and I expect this year to be more of the same.

Not too early to realize how big this game is next Friday in Laramie. 4 sit at 3-1 in the Mountain West Conference to include AF and Wyo. Looks like another mobile QB Hughes who rushed for 180yrds and 4TDs Saturday. Just watched the highlights. Wyoming QB Hughes is exactly like UNLV QB Arnold ...he gets flushed out of the pocket and scrambles for multiple long runs OR calls his own. Now, this was against NIU. His rushing stats for other games are good but not as impressive. They do have a balanced attack heavier on the run and can pass the ball.

Keys to the game will be to contain the quarterback. Just like you guys worried about our quarterback we are worried about your scrambling. At the same time our offensive line has to allow us to get to the edge on our runs. I will be interested to see how you test us in the air and how our young defensive backs respond.

That's a good team coming to Laramie this week. This will be a really good chance for the Cowboys to show everyone that they can play with a good team.

I think we've been playing better ball in the last couple of games, but might come up short in this one.

24-16 AFA.

It’s a substantial increase in competition.

I do believe that if the game is close, our new OC will line up under center and call QB sneak at the goal line as opposed to bringing in the TE to throw a pass from shotgun.
