after a couple of days...

After a couple days to reflect and re-watch the game on tv… here are a couple of thoughts and questions I have…

Off the field:
1). I was angry/embarrassed at the red in the stands. I get that Neb is our next door neighbor but gawd that was tough to see. There was even red in our student section? Really?? Back when coach Roach was here… it would have never happened!! There would have been a lot of people arrested…. I guarantee it!

2). I know that every school in America has “those” kind of fans that you would rather shoot than listen to. Nebraska just seems to have a lot of arrogant fans. I have been to Ohio St, Mississippi, Tenn, Florida, Texas, etc and watched the pokes play and I never encountered anything close to what I heard on Saturday. As Neb took the field, a lady Neb fan sitting next to me, (in the Wyo parents section!) said “I don’t watch porn to get excited…. I watch Nebraska football!” Not much a normal person can say to that… to bad her goatee was thicker than mine.

3). I know Burman catches a lot of crap and some of it he has earned but I think he has done a pretty good job getting teams into the War. That is all I will say about that.

On the field:

1). I don’t know what DC said to the players and coaches before the game… but this is what I would have said. “Boys, if there is even a little shred of doubt in your mind that we are going to go out there and kick their ass… don’t come with me. I need 11 guys to come with me and punch them in the mouth from the very first play and not stop until its over and we have won!” I didn’t see that on the field. Everytime Boise St. steps on the field, they don’t “expect” to win… they “know” they are going to win, and they are a MWC team. We need that mentality every game and I could care less WHO we are playing! Playing to keep it close does not work and shouldn’t be accepted… by the players or the coaches!

2). Nebraska couldn’t throw. We should have stuck 8 or 9 in the box and said… we dare you to throw. If you can beat us by throwing, congrats, but you ain’t running.

3). At 7220 ft, are you telling me we can’t find a graduating senior in high school in the United States, that can’t kick a football out of the back of the end zone?? There has to be someone isn’t there??

4). Mr. Smith, I believe, has a bright future. As a fresh, I like his game. When he gets the experience to really lead, in the coming years, he is gonna be really good!

From here on out… boys, walk onto the field like you own it and punch ‘em in the mouth! I don’t care if its Boise or TCU or whoever. Let’s change the attitude of “I wonder whats going to happen” to “I am here to kick your ass!!” It starts at the top. You listening DC??

Thankfully, there was a lot more brown and gold in the student section than red. Truth be told, I'm surprised fights didn't break out in the student section, all things considered.

I saw the police hauling someone out of the student section near the band in the first quarter.

I'm guessing he might have taken a sip of some type of alcoholic beverage. Legal age or not. Surprised he didn't get tased.
