Im on the fence on this one.
On one hand we miss a bunch of points and on the other there is a lot less silly turnovers :|

I am as well...and there are a couple of things that are keeping me at bay...

1. We lose our leading scorer, although he has 90 more shots than anyone else on the team...he still is the leading scorer.

2. We lose experience, and the MWC Fr. of the year (last year). That hurts regardless.

3. We lose, what appears as, a quiet unemotional selfish player, that gives a half-assed effort most of the time.

4. We lose a defensive liability...and a TO/A ratio that is pathetic (55/23).

5. We probably see Heath's tenure prolonged now (not saying good or bad, just saying), at least to the 2011 - 2012 season (2 more years)...regardless the W/L record...we may be handcuffed, which is never good.

Amongst many more...

Is indeed bad news. May have some benefits; i.e., more playing time for others. But McPeachy did you have to bring up the UGLY? -- point number 5. Suppose that means a couple more seasons where we play NAIA schools and count them! But imagine with the way this season was going that we were probably looking at two or three of them next year anyway so that the AD's buddy would have a chance to look better on the winning side; although with Heath at the helm it is not necessarily a given that we would beat all NAIA teams that we might schedule -- but then I am not sure how many more Johnson-Wales and Peru States there are out there.

When I think of Wyoming basketball knee injuries...I always think back to Ugo Udezue. He was a dominating force and I believe our leading scorer. He was never remotely close to his old self when he came back. Hopefully Afam comes back with the same talent/skill set and maybe a little extra drive.

I dont know that this will really prolong or buy Schroyer any time. He was going to get another year at least anyway. Oredigger, I agree, Ugo was never the same after that injury. Actually, very very few seem to get back to their previous level after knee injuries. We'll see about Afam. We'll see what happens. The other players now HAVE to make up for the points. I often thought we relied too heavily on Afam at times, and now that wont be an option.
