AFA @ Wyoming

This is ridiculous. Gilmore just keeps jacking up shots all over the place, and keeps missing them. There are four other guys on the floor who probably can shoot much better, why not try and distribute the ball to them, that's usually what a point guard does. Damn it this game is freaking over. We have a guy who scores 14 in the first half and all he's able to do is get a couple of shots in the second half, while guys on the outside keep cranking them up.

Well...this game was a bit to tough coming off of a road game a couple of days ago. I don't want to make excuses...but.

This game is over were playing keep away from Washington & Nance jacking up 3's all over the place. Holy crap while I have faith in Shyatt I'm just not sure how many games I can watch us shoot 10% from 3 point range.

There are no excuses we don't have anyone that can score but Washington.

This must be called the "stand around offense". Everybody just stands there, someone gets the ball and instead of moving it quickly, waits till a defender comes out to guard him. Then he waives his arms to tell somebody to go somewhere and the told does. Then the told gets the ball and repeats above. Wow. This looks bad. Lets do wide open street ball. Pokes going nowhere from here, methinks.

Couldn't agree more. We have one of the premier post players in the conference and we don't use him. I don't care if he gets double teamed, I know we've all seen him beat double teams before. If he can't then the Pokes have to move the ball around and find the open guy, not necessarily for a three shot either. Damn it so frustrating to see a promising season seemingly go up in smoke.

That about sums it up. Nance is just not a real post up player and is an inconsistent jump shooter. We have the worst shooting guard lineup of any team i've seen in the conference so far. We are going to see a lot of zone defenses the rest of the year.

I guess the Shyatt honeymoon is officially over.

The sad part is we were just rebuilding the fanbase.

AFA has more talent than we do...let that one sink in.

Where the f--k was Nance? Not the first game where he hasn't shown up.

Glad it only took the Pokes 39 minutes to figure out how to break the 2-3 matchup zone. PENETRATE THE BALL!!! Standing at the 4 corners and the top of the key doesn't break a zone, nor put anybody in position for a rebound, which is important when you miss 3 pointer after 3 pointer. Is it to the point now where if the opposition breaks 50, there is no chance the Pokes can win? Might be the most offensively-inept college basketball team I've seen in a while.

Nance turned it over when we could have made it a 3 pt deficit. Huge. Really missing Martinez 3 shooting. It's the single biggest factor for us. Hitting a decent percentage from 3 opens a lot up. Good job Martinez, good job.

You can kiss our at large goodbye, Of course we all knew that will no Martinez but now we're really screwed. We can't win on the road and we can't win at home at this rate we will be back in the CBI.

Nance lately has looked pretty dejected, I have to think some of that has to do with all these 3's they are putting up.

Not trying to channel my inner wyofishing or anything, but yet another year goes by without any revenue sport making a significant dent and barring a MWC tourney run by the Cowgirls (I believe they have a very good shot) another year without a MWC championship in any sport.

The big dogs (BYU, Utah, TCU) all left and we are still the runt of the litter. At what point does somebody start to wonder about the leadership?

I am just so damn pissed off right now.

It isn't Nance or Washingtons fault. Air Force packed in the zone and triple teamed the big guys and made Wyoming shoot 3's and every other team in the conference is going to do the same. It doesn't do any good to force the ball down low if they are going to turn it over so somebody better start hitting some of those 3's because thats the only way things are going to start to open up for Washington and Nance down low.

Every team is going to play zone on us the rest of the year and pack it in deep and make us shoot 3's until we prove we can knock down some outside shots.

Apparently AFA wasn't too fond of all the hype Wyoming/Boise were getting a few weeks ago. Congrats to them.....IMO, the tourney teams right now are UNM, SDSU, UNLV, CSU, and......AFA.

AFA has zero chance at an at-large. They are probably the 5th best team in the league, but just didn't get it done OOC. A lot of losses were to good teams, but they didn't beat anybody with a RPI higher than 250 in OOC play. The committee will never reward that (plus the RPI is so low, only 70 even after tonight's win).

4 bid league.

The Pokes have a low chance of hitting 3's because Shyatt hasn't taught them how to set up proper screens for the 3 shooter. And waiting till the clock runs down to make a three try a desperation shot doesn't help either. I've seen open players not take a 3 because it was "too early" in the clock. That's going to have to change. And clearing out on offense on a 3 attempt may slow down a fast break, but it is probably a bad tactic with absolutely no chance of a rebound.

We don't have anyone within 20ft of the rim when we miss those threes. Sick of us just playing catch around perimeter.
