AF @ UW

Cosmic Cowboy

This is a must win rivalry game. AF is coming in with a bunch of wins....must be playing disciplined. We need the Cowboys to show us another level at home and get back on track. Dome of DOOM time
This is conference. Lets see who plays their way into the lineup.
I hate AF. Lets get these Greenies
We owe AF some ass whoopings if we can get them. Please Please make this our break out game. :fuel:
Probably gonna be closer then I'd like it. Here's to hoping we win by 10

This is a game where every player on the Wyoming team has to play smart defense with total concentration on the whole court. I think our coach will put the players out there that can do this. This will be a learning lesson for out younger players. Rebounding will be very important again.

Air Force fan here.....looking for a good game with no injuries to either team. We have been battling the flu bug on the team so it will be interesting to see how and 'who' play in this game. My thoughts plus link to game summary from our last game. Hoping to make the game and GO FALCONS

Air Force vs Wyoming

Fast forward 4 days from our game vs SJSU and the Falcons travel up the I-25 corridor for a date vs the Wyoming Cowboys (7-8/0-2MWC). This is a dangerous team playing their first home MWC game (2 road loses first at SDSU and last game by 3 at Nevada 68-71). In looking at the numbers Wyoming actually wins the battle in comparing stats but their team and how they do comes down to one name and that is 6'2" guard Josh Adams. The only senior on the Cowboys roster, he leads his team and the MWC in scoring with 25ppg and adds 6rpg/41% 3's and 81%FT. Like Brandon Ewing, Wyoming guard from years ago, Adams thrives on driving the lane and scoring or getting fouled and going to the line. The difference between the two is he is also dangerous with the long ball hitting 3 in the loss to Nevada. Next to him is McManamen with 12ppg followed by James 8ppg and Herndon 7ppg, both of which shoot well from the outside.

Keys for the Falcon for a win begins with what every scout of Wyoming says "Stop Adams". Truth is he is such a good player he may not be stopped but he must be slowed down enough while you shut down the rest of the team. If the Falcons can contain him enough physically without sending him to the FT line then they will be in this game. If the double on him can get a charge or get him frustrated there will be positive consequences for AF. Another area the Falcons may be able to exploit is through our big men. Right now our true bigs average 42mpg and 17ppg/10rpg as a group (Zach Moer 10pts/5.5rpg/22mpg, Joe Tuss 4/3/15 and Frank Toohey 3/2/5.4). Wyoming's 2 true big men (both 6'10" 245# So. And 225# Fr) average a combined 5ppg/3.2rpg in 23mpg. They often go smaller in the five position in their offense (by smaller Herndon and Dalton 6'9" move to the five from the four both at 6'9"). It is a must for AF's Zach Moer to stay out of foul trouble and be a presence in the middle in this game. Should be a good one and I'm putting my boots and spurs on for the ride up to Laramie to watch our Falcons tip it off on the 6th.

must win yes, yes, yes, we've see too much o for this season, but have a feeling with our adjustments to conference play this team probably isn't ready for the AF offense, we could see Josh go for 40 tho shooting over the zone(wishful thinking), just don't think they are ready for this one as well, unless Barnes and Naughton come up big down low for us...we'll see

so what the predicted crowd? 4k over or under??? no students although they are allowing we fans to sit in student section and act rowdy etc...almost worth the price of admission LOL, on the floor behind the basket, lol funny stuff, at least it's Military night as well, I have to bowl otherwise i'd think about it

Handle the ball the way the Pokes have in the last couple of games and the Pokes are going down. And the bigs won't be able to contain feeds to the inside to AFA's quick cutters, so play a fast lineup, IMO.

Shout out to the guy who yelled "Shyatt let Jordan play!" Immediately following the playing of the National Anthem...

Well done, Pokes! Shot the heck out of the ball from three and rebounded well.

Anyone else catch Adams walk up to the hoops at the very end of the game and casually brick a layup and collect the rebound?? Ha Ha ha.That final rebound gave him the double double 20 pts 10 reb. Can't believe the scorekeeper gave that to him. Sly dog.

Lol......I just came here to post the same thing......... His only offensive rebound of the night

Glad to see us finally get off the schnide against air force, been awhile since we've beaten them! Unable to follow the game tonight, just happy for the win!!

Yeah that bricked layup by Adams was funny. When he first did it I was thinking that maybe he needed to miss a lay up on purpose to make it hit the rim because the shot clock was going to have an extra second or two on it then i remembered he had 9 rebounds

I was happy to see Lieberman have some confidence tonight and hit some threes. He even created a couple off of the dribble and pulled up and knocked them down. He had a couple of bad turnovers but I didn't mind because he was attacking the basket. That is what I like to see. He just needs to not think so much and just shoot the damn ball. He showed tonight once he doesn't think too much and just shoots it that it will go in half of the time.

Glad we got the win. :thumb:
