Right now is the time to experiment with everything we have to see what we can come up with for the tournament. There is no reason Air Force of all teams should be killing us on the interior. I can understand when Air Force gets hot from deep and wins with high level execution and 3s. Why not experiment with every lineup possible? Do something like play Naughton, Barnes, Herndon, James/JMac and Adams all at once. That is a massive, old school NBA lineup that I wouldn't want to see a lot of but in limited stretches against a team like AF that isn't as athletic? Maybe we could just completely pummel them, who knows, but at least try it! Maybe we get torched but it's not any worse than what we're already doing.
Our coaches like to stick with their game plan on a team. Especially if we play them twice and definitely if we were successful the first time around.
Our line up and bench players for this game was EXACTLY the SAME as the first time we played AF. Barnes and Naughton have yet to play against AF this year.
Our games against Nevada. The players and time (for the most part) were exactly the same. I wouldn't be surprised that if we saw AF again in the tourney that our coaches wouldn't do exactly the same thing again. I noticed this trend last year. The only exception to last year was utilizing Bentz near the end of the year. Look and watch our lineups from when we were successful or in a game that was close enough to go both ways earlier and see if the line up and minutes look similar. Games like UNM, CSU and possibly FSU. With a game like we had with SDS and SJS we may see a change.
This is just something I've noticed, may be relevant, may not.
