AF game

Same type of second half we had in Fresno this game is as good as done, Adams and Herdon both walking on eggs shells and can't get anything to go their way and now we can't make shit from the charity stripe to boot.

Shyatt is a great coach and a great guy, but sometimes he just amazes me. He's the first one to jump on fans who question what he does, but when you lose to the two worst teams in the conference you deserve to be questioned. Plain and simple.

It's just tough to take these losses where it feels like there were players on the bench who could have helped us win. Why was Naughton not playing? Because he doesn't understand how to defend the Princeton offense? How about turning the tables and asking who on Air Force is going to stop him rolling to the basket? Marshall is a dead horse, but man it's tough to continually lose to MW bottom dwellers on the road with the feeling we left something useful on the bench that we didn't at least try.

Well, that's a terrible way to end this day. But it's no different than the rest of this season. Win games I don't expect and lose the ones I expect to win

We're now 4-7 in conference. I could understand the whole "not playing guys who don't understand defense" thing on a team like last years team, where we are competing for a potential at large berth or conference championship and can't afford rookie mistakes. But again, we are now 4-7 in conference. What harm is there from letting Marshall or Naughton or others play more and at least try and maybe learn trial by fire? Our only hope now is to catch lightening in a bottle for the tournament and when you have a player like Josh Adams it's always a possibility. Why not try every possible combination along the way to try to find that lightening?

Josh really needs to watch himself. The conference is on his back, right or wrong. As the broadcast went to commercial in the second half, he told the cameraman to get out of his face. Not a good look for a player who is trying to be in the nba. Be worried about the things that matter. Root picked up the audio of him saying it too.

This x 1000. Why not plug the middle with big dudes? Most of our foul trouble stemmed from craptastic play in the middle on defense. One question, why can't Herndon extend on defense? He plays off his guy a good four steps. I won't even ask how he misses so many free throws.

I saw that too. I thought AFA was pretty handsy...including after plays. I think they were trying to get under his (and others') skin and force an outburst. Others in the league will do the same.

I agree, but that comes along with being a big time player. As a senior and a leader, he should have the maturity to handle that. He needs to really be aware with NBA scouts watching him.

Again with this. Follow up a win over CSU in front of the largest crowd of the year by losing to this team. If you want to sustain crowd momentum YOU CAN NOT LOSE TO TEAMS LIKE THIS!!!!

Any interest in me going to Fort Collins for game just evaporated. Horrible horrible loss.

Well, I had to leave at half and play Rec league and wow. Was shocked to see we lost. I, too, don't get why we don't play new people. It's so frustrating

Larry's quote after the game:

“We got an early lead, but we got too comfortable and once the avalanche hit and we started to miss shots, we couldn’t turn it,” UW head coach Larry Shyatt said. “Josh [Adams] got in early foul trouble, but I thought the difference in the game was [Air Force’s] Hayden Graham, Frank Toohey and Zach Moer. They finished interior shots and blistered us inside. Those guys had their own inside against our interior.”

With this being the case…why not play Barnes or Naughton down low? Sheesh.

I've been waiting for this team to mature and see young guys step up. It hasn't happened. 25 games into the season and James looks lost on both ends of the floor. Herndon gets beat off the dribble for layup after layup. Adams throws up shots completely out of the blue and seems to commit turnovers at the worst times. We have to be the worst 2nd half team in the conference. We shoot way too many 3's and at the other end, we gave up uncontested shots inside and outside. I'm going to skip the MWC tournament this year. I see a one and done - if we even get there.

Shyatt needs to play people who can score, aka, get to the freaking rack. So tired of living and dying by the three. It's a crappy way to play basketball. Shyatt overthinks and ends up doing retarded crap like play Lieberman 30 min a game and not play Naughton at all.

So in order of ability of people who can take it to the rack or score inside:

Adams
JMac
James
Herndon
Marshall (ya, ya, ya)
Naughton
Washington
Dalton
Barnes
Gorski
Lieberman

It's like we're taking daschunds to the greyhound track with the level of athletes we put out there sometimes(Gorski and Lieberman).

And why the heck didn't we play Dalton more? He's been playing great. It seems like any time a player has a good stretch or game Shyatt just sits them and kills their momentum. It's crazy.
