Adams Suspension?

Wow...without our best player for arguably the best team in the league. This does not bode well. On the flip side, I guess we will get a preview of what next year's squad looks like.

I have a feeling Josh just might drop 50 on Fresno on the 26th. This suspension is probably going to really piss him off, and he will return to the court more than a little bit motivated. I also hope this puts a little chip on the shoulders of his teammates. Maybe a bit of motivation for them as well to come out and play a little angry tomorrow.

It's not like he seal clubbed a cheerleaders baby during a time-out.

He waived at a guy that just threw a forearm shiver at one of his teammates. He didn't get violent. He simply waived.

If Randy McCall wasn't experiencing menstrual cramps, he wouldn't have drawn a foul at all.

When you're at a lower profile school, even small stuff like this can make a difference. I'm sure he'll at least have to answer a question or two about it leading up to the draft.

A suspension for something non-physical (not even a touch). This sounds very fishy to me. I'm thinking the conference has another motive.

Josh has been more testy than I have ever seen him this year. I can only guess that in his undeniable desire to compete and win he has been frustrated at times. The last technical is what it is and Josh very clearly gave the "referees ejection signal" immediately upon the stoppage of play. What we do not know is the level of smack talk that may have occurred as well. Also - in prior games that Josh got T'd in he definitely made verbals towards the referees over calls or non-calls.

This is a disappointment and let's hope cooler heads prevail the rest of the season because I would be bummed to see 4.4.2.2 to be enforced.

Coach Shyatt better make sure Josh understands that no more or he might be a goner.

This. It's becoming pretty obvious there's a problem between Shyatt and the Conference staff, from Thompson to the officials.

It's time for Burman to lobby our President (whom I've decided to call the UeWe-dent) to get in touch with the other presidents about pushing Thompson out of there...

I was sure impressed how competitive the team was sans Josh.

I think it shows, once again, that a Shyatt-coached team is never completely out of it at UW.

On the tough side of that statement Shyatt coached teams at UW are now 42-46 (.477) in conference play (33-41 in MWC play (.445)). I honestly struggle with losing more conference games than winning no matter how close the scores are. There is still hope for a recovery and a winning record in conference play this year, but if it does not happen that will mean 4 out 5 years in MWC play we are .500 or below.

Sure losing by 10 when a star player goes down when the game was close most of the way is better than losing badly like we saw at the end of McClain and during Schroyer, but in the end a loss is a loss and it does impact enthusiasm as in the number of empty seats - even though today had one of the larger crowds.

Is it unreasonable for any Poke fan to want to be a winner in conference play? At least there is some promise that if the league stays as weak as it is currently, this group may just get to the better than .500 record in conference play next year or the year after. But - that is another Wyoming story - wait and wait and wait. The MWC is not a very strong league this year sitting at 9th in Sagarin RPI indexes and UW is at 8-11 versus D1 teams.

The empty seats speak far more to the monumental blackout group grope that the reseating was than anything else. I know $5K donors who went ahead and bought seats, only to leave them empty in protest.

CONSPIRACY: "The MWC trying to keep us down"

- Every year since Shy has been back we've lost our best player in the second half of the season from anywhere between one game or the rest of the year...Luke Martinez. Nance twice, knee and mono, now Adams.

What the hell?

We always have something. Wonder who it will be next year?

Luke Martinez committed a felony.
Nance blew his ACL untouched.
Nance got mono in Laramie, not from a MWC rep.
3 of your 4 examples are easily debunked.

The Adams one? Yeah, something seems weird, but let's admit it, the way Josh plays and acts sometimes is reminiscent of that tool from SDSU a couple years ago, Jamaal Franklin.
Josh is someone you want on your team, but can't stand if he is on the other.
Josh isn't Larry, Josh ruffles feathers. And that is why he is getting in trouble.

Is waving your hand a reason for a technical? I don't know, it shouldn't be. But then again, if it's borderline according to some refs, then Josh shouldn't be doing it.
Don't act in a way where you need a forgiving ref to keep you out of trouble.
