ACS

I don't have a soft spot for ACS.

Why not? He stiff armed that CSU d-back and got us into a bowl game, and started the tradition of beating CSU, and won a bowl game.
Then he left and Brett Smith was a lot better.
If Smith sucked, and ACS screwed the team over then I wouldn't have a soft spot but because Smith is a lot better I root for him.

Beavs - that mostly became my stance at well. At first, I thought, what a kind of weed smoking tool is this guy to be such a pussy mama's boy to quit? Then I realized, had he stayed around, we wouldn't have Brett Smith (or Jason Thompson probably either). So, he did us a favor by quitting UW.

Exactly peach.
ACS did no harm leaving the program. Hell, it resulted in B-Smith getting the reps with 1st team offense all spring, and ended up helping us get Greg Brandon here as Arroyo left when ACS left.
When ACS left at X-mas break, and Smith showed up what happened is we got an improved, more accurate ACS, with half the ego, plus 4 more years of eligibility.
Maybe some games would have been different with ACS than Smith, think the Weber State game (Brett's first game).
ACS probably would have ran for 200 yards on Weber State and Wyo would have won by more than we did, as opposed to B-Smith leading a game winning TD drive at the end, but the same result in the end.
Plus I don't think we win 8 games that season with ACS.

Basically, I thank ACS for his 2 years here, but also thank him for allowing Smith to take over and get 4 years here.

I watched parts of the Vandy-Ole Miss game. I will say that ACS has improved quite a bit in the pocket. Although, he does have a significantly better line than he did at Wyoming. I don't think ACS is still anywhere close to Brett Smith, but it appears that he has turned into a decent quarterback nonetheless. I would be curious to see if Vandy will free ACS to run a bit more.

This. I thought we were screwed when ACS left, but then Brett turned out to be even better. If ACS had stayed, Brett may not have ala Pittster. It all worked out in the end.

We all thought we were screwed after Brett's first college pass ever. That ball slipped right out of his hands right into the D-Line of Weber State.

I was at that game. After I believe it was a phenomenal spring game, I knew we were ok, even after "first pass"

But don't tell me you didn't groan after it happened.

Haha exactly. I wonder if Pittser thought he was about to take the field after that lol.
